About This Game

In "Don't Get Caught," the office is your playground, with high stakes. As an employee, you will receive tasks to either slack off and undermine the company or to improve its performance. Every action influences the company's overall standing, directly impacting whether the boss remains employed or gets the boot by day's end.

Boss

The boss isn't just a figurehead; they can assign roles, call meetings, and even fire employees they suspect of misconduct.

Worker

Choose to discreetly derail the company's success or work earnestly to improve it, all while avoiding detection. Your collective actions with colleagues determine the company's performance and the boss's career trajectory.

Gameplay

Employee Mechanics:

  • Task Assignments: Employees receive randomized tasks that either benefit the company (e.g., shredding paper) or undermine it (e.g., playing games or slacking off in the bathroom). Successfully executing these tasks influences the company's performance metrics accordingly.

  • Stealth and Strategy: When engaging in activities that could harm the company, employees must act discreetly to avoid detection by the boss.

  • Collective Impact: The cumulative outcomes of all employees' actions determine the company's overall performance by the end of the workday.

Boss Mechanics:

  • Role Assignment: The boss can delegate specific roles or responsibilities to employees to enhance productivity and maintain order.

  • Monitoring and Meetings: By observing employee behavior and performance, the boss can call meetings to address concerns, reassign roles, or boost morale.

  • Employee Termination: If the boss identifies an employee as detrimental to the company's success, they can fire the employee.

End-of-Day Outcomes:

After the workday, the company's performance is evaluated:

  • Performance Below Threshold: If the company's performance falls below a predetermined standard, the boss is terminated, signaling a victory for the employees who aimed to sabotage.

  • Performance Meets or Exceeds Threshold: If the company maintains or surpasses the required performance level, the boss retains their position, marking a win for the boss and any employees who contributed positively.
