What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Primal goals for game development have been reached; Alpha- und Beta-phase are done. We are creating Ninas Escape for the enjoyment of our players, so we would like to get feedback on what we could make better: Level design, Editor/Tools, Graphics, Gameplay, Enemies, Powerups. etc...
We want to learn how we can improve the game before final release !”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We would like to release Ninas Escape in early 2026 to the general public.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“If we get more good ideas that we can include in the game, we try to do our best to include them. This specifically includes other types of enemies, improved game mechanics and powerups/collectibles.
We plan to bundle the full version with more levels than our early acccess version. Game controller support is planned, as well as support for playing the game on the Mac (M silicone).”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“A playable version that behaves exactly as we want is available. ATM there is only a limited set of game levels bundled with it (25 tutorial und 25 game levels), but the level editor is fully functional, so everybody is encouraged to make and share their own levels.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The early access price will be slightly less than the later retail price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Please play the game, make levels, enjoy together with your friends. If you feel anything is really missing, please let us know ! The game is in early access now exactly for the purpose of collecting additional ideas to improve gameplay and get ideas for additional features !
We have set up a discussion forum for that; please use this for the latest news from the developers, and to tell us what you think !”

About This Game

A special kind of Jump-and-Run game in honor to the classics from the 80s home computer era. Our hero, little Nina, has been trapped into a large cave with multiple levels - you can help her to escape from there. In every level, there is a teleporter that moves Nina to the next level. Those teleporters work from batteries - so you have to collect all batteries in a level to activate the end level teleporter to escape from that level.

There are numerous hazards in every level: poisonous spiders dangling from the ceilings, pools filled with deadly liquids (water, slime, lava), flying balls that send out electrical shock bolts, evil people chasing Nina, even bats are lurking around. Movement is done by walking, jumping and jumping, also climbing walls and ladders. There are lift platforms (moving horizontal and vertical), in-level teleporters that need coins to operate, and electrical forcefields that block passageways.

You can play either alone, or party up with friends or family and play locally with up to 4 players in a game (coop mode). There is no "points counting", so no rivalry is needed. But all players have to complete a level to count it "done". So it is "play together", and not "who wins the game".

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

The grapics on the shop page is ai generated. Most of the texture in the game are hand-drawn, but some of them are ai-generated.
All game levels are hand-crafted in the level editor (everybody who owns the game can do that, too).
Enemy behaviour is deterministic and sometimes random; no ai used here.
