What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Early Access is an opportunity for us to involve the community in the development of MEANWHILE IN SECTOR 80. Player feedback is a crucial part of making a great game and ensures that we're making what players want. We are hoping to use the input and funding from Early Access to scale our team and produce more, better, content for players and create the best game we can.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We are aiming to leave Early Access within two years. MEANWHILE IN SECTOR 80 is a large game that has occupied our hearts for a long time. We want to pack as much into the game as we can during Early Access and beyond.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Content! We're always adding more parts, enemies, and locations for players to visit. On the road to 1.0, we want to flesh out all six of the planets within the game's solar system. We have a story planned within the environment that is planned to be part of the game by the time we leave Early Access.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game's core physics simulation is complete and many core features are implemented. We have one playable planet and an introduction scenario that teaches players how to use the game's engineering systems. The planet is populated with several types of enemy and a variety of parts they can use to create equipment.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Price will increase during the course of Early Access until the full game is released.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We have an active Discord community where we interact live with players as we're working on new features. Players are encouraged to share any ideas and feedback in the community. We periodically share unstable builds of the game to get early feedback on features while they're still very rough, giving players a chance to shape the game's mechanics from an early stage.”

About This Game

Welcome to SECTOR 80 — a failed region of space where things went SUPER wrong. By the way, you’re stuck here, and trapped in a malfunctioning robot body. How about that!

But don’t worry, you’ve got me, your best bud, Frank!

An arrow points to a glowing purple orb-y face. The text says "THAT'S ME!"

Oh, what’s this? I’ve just been handed an instructional pamphlet to read to you good people at home. I'm gonna put my own spin on it.

ENGINEER FREELY

In MS80, you’re made of things and enemies are made of things. Shoot enemies, take their things, and put their things on your things!

There are so many things — firearms, batteries, gimbals, soda cans, armor, tasers, energy shields, my goodness! You’ll never stay the same shape for too long!

BE PHYSICS

And all those things? They’re physical. That means heat, and mass, and electricity — fully simulated!

You’re a real live wire — a running, jumping electrical circuit that eats energy and spits lasers. Good thing SECTOR 80 has more than enough of those to go around.

GET BLASTING

Our marketing manager says this is the part where you need to see violence or you'll lose interest!
What, you didn’t expect those pesky evil robots to just hand over their parts nicely, did you?

A glowing purple orb-y face is on a lava planet in front of a giant gun in the distance. The text says "WISHLIST NOW OR THEY'LL DELETE ME"
