What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I have never made a game that has been in development for this long. So rather than just hoping the full release is what people want, I would really love some feedback first to see what people like and what they don't about this game.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I can't put an exact number on it. It is a game I'm making in my free time, but it is also the main thing going on in my life right now. At minimum until summer 2025, but likely a bit longer.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“This will depend heavily on the feedback I get from the alpha test. The focus will be first to iron out the bugs and add QoL improvements, then on adding more content. I am currently working on more levels, more cutscenes, and expanding upon the game mechanics that you like while toning down the ones you don't.
I also have a channel on my discord that documents content updates that I've already made, but aren't in the alpha demo.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Refer to the "About this" section in the store page. All features listed there are currently implemented.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The Early Access version of the game is available for free as a demo. During Early Access, the price will not change. However, once the game reaches its full release, I will sell it at a price comparable to other indie games. It will then be available as a separate paid download on this page, in addition to the demo. Meaning the price for what you downloaded will not change after Early Access ends, as the demo will remain free and the full game will be introduced at its final price at launch.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“In every way i can, honestly. It's kinda why I'm doing this. While I have a good idea on what the final game will look like, I am not shying away from adding new mechanics that people are asking for. I am also very active on my gamedev discord, so if you have specific questions about the game or just cool things you want to share about your gameplay experience I'd love to answer everything there personally.”

About This Game

(if you're fast enough)

ENDER is a game about going fast, but doesn't punish you for taking your time.
In essence, it is a 3D platformer focused on teleportation. The reason so few platformers have straight up teleport mechanics is cause they usually break every platforming game design principle known to man when introduced. But this game and its levels are made from the ground up to support this break in convention. Use them to get to places you wouldn't reach. Use them as a makeshift checkpoint to teleport back to. Hell, use them to get 2 meters forwards slightly faster than by walking.

There are timed bronze/silver/gold medals, these are not needed to advance in the game, their main purpose is to let you know that level you are fast in... well... you are REALLY fast in that one. Good job.

While not the focus, there are also some some light, open-ended puzzles, and a smidge of combat (that will be expanded upon on the full release).
There is also an optional collectathon element with a heart hidden on every level, as a little easter egg hunt.

ENDER has hand drawn animated cutscenes, but the story itself is rather unconventional. It's a way for me to express some questions I don't know the answers to.

This game is in public alpha so a lot of things (including Steam integration and controller support) are still in the works.
The alpha is playable as the "Demo" here on Steam. Upon full release this game will have a free demo too, but for now I'm using it for you to play it early access for free without any hassle. This game will not be monetized until it is actually done.
