À propos de ce jeu

You begin with a library card and a piece of chalk.

Dear Occupant is an incremental game about climbing from a bedroom occultist to something much larger, one summoning at a time. Moths and tenants first. Then planets with paperwork. Then the stars, who are keeping score.

Everything you call is useful. Everything you call is noticed. Something very old and very large is watching, and it watches a little closer every day. Nothing makes it look away for free. When its attention is full, it comes to see you, and the run ends.

You will lose your first run.

What you do:

  • Build an operation that makes Lore every second. It begins with library cards and chalk circles, and grows through a lodge and an observatory into a press, a department, a foundation, an embassy and a ministry.

  • Summon 16+ beings from the Moon, the Planets and the Stars. Each multiplies your Lore, and each has its own price in Attention.

  • Manage the watching. Cover your tracks, choose your moments, decide how much you can afford to carry.

  • Answer the post. Letters, visitors and small catastrophes arrive as short, dry vignettes. Choose within thirty seconds, or chance chooses for you.

  • Leave in time, or don't. Ascend before it arrives for a full reward, or be found and take what you can carry.

  • Fill the Lexicon. Everything you earn between runs buys permanent entries across five pages: ways to slow its attention, steady your hands, summon cheaper, and sleep through the night.

  • Read the Codex. Every building, being and Lexicon entry has a note, written the first time you meet it.

Features:

  • Active and idle play together. If you step away, your run pauses before you are in danger.

  • Over a hundred hand-written events, story arcs and milestone scenes, in a dry, understated manner.

  • A calendar of shifting alignments that bend the numbers

  • 40+ permanent upgrades, including wards, automation and a passive mode

  • Ten buildings, sixteen beings, and three things that only come when you are found

  • Local autosave
