This timeline gives me about a year to act on community feedback, roll out major content updates, add new features, and fully flesh out the game's universe. In Sky Scaffold, you enter the Fourcade Expanse, a hostile sci-fi frontier where resources are finite and entropy is the constant threat. You start on a barren planet, laying the foundation for an industrial empire. But unlike other idle games or roguelites that reset everything upon failure, your legacy survives. Your reputation with factions persists across runs. Your unlocked Ark upgrades remain. The world remembers you—even when it tries to kill you.

Built in Godot with a gritty industrial sci-fi aesthetic and handcrafted pixel art, Sky Scaffold is an indie sandbox that blends colony management, resource logistics, and emergent social strategy into a single screen experience. 🌟 Core Features

⚙️ Complex Industry Chains

Sky Scaffold is built on deep, data-driven production chains that span from raw minerals to high-tech weaponry. We have designed a robust resource flow system that mimics real-world logistics engineering, ensuring every input has an output and every structure serves a purpose.

Advanced Production Systems: Our industry loop includes specialized extractors to feed into the broader economy. Resources are not just stored; they are actively consumed by factories and weapon systems.

  • Ammo Evolution: Weaponry follows a clear progression path. Energy ammo evolves from Battery → Capacitor → Cell → Core → Singularity (E1–E5 tiers). Kinetic rounds advance from 9mm → .50cal → 20mm → 105mm → Rail Slug (K1–K5 tiers). Explosives scale from Grenade → Mortar → Rocket → Missile → Nuke Shell (X1–X5 tiers).

  • Supply Chain Logic: Each tier feeds specific components of your defenses. Lower-tier ammo fills basic turrets, while high-end Singularity shells power orbital weapons in the Space Hub. This encourages players to unlock advanced factories before attempting deep-space combat.

🏗 Vertical Expansion & The Sky Scaffold

The Sky Scaffold is your vertical industrial backbone. You build upward from your starting planet, expanding your production capacity planet by planet.

Manual Expansion & Logistics: As you build higher, you gain access to more complex manufacturing tiers. However, this expansion also draws attention. The larger your tower becomes, the more of a target you paint against incoming threats, forcing players to balance production output with defensive placement.

🏛️ The Space Hub System

Once your tower reaches the sky, you ascend into orbit to manage your own space station. The Space Hub is a fully expandable grid-based colony where you can unlock new modules as you progress. Built using the SpaceHubView system, the Hub evolves through distinct levels, each requiring specific resource investment and unlocking new gameplay loops:

🌐 Persistent Social Ledger

Some games offer a reset button. Sky Scaffold does not. We have implemented an Ark Point meta-progression system for structural upgrades, paired with a Persistent Faction Relationship engine.

  • Major Factions: Governed by 4 types (Government, Criminal, Scholarly, Militant) including the HIGI Loyalists, Chorus Hegemony, and Sector Authority.

  • Faction Reputation: Scores run from -100 (Hostile) to +100 (Allied). Anger a faction, and their enemies will invade you. Earn trust, and they will defend your colonies.

  • The In-Game Phone: Access the Faction Relationship App directly from your in-game phone. Receive calls, send messages, and initiate interactions. No scripted dialogue trees—just emergent personalities based on generated skills (Transmission, Resolution, Kinetic) and group associations.

  • Social Capital: Your reputation is earned slowly and lost carefully. It survives death resets. Trade emotions with agents or barter information. Make friends and enemies.

🚀 Galactic Logistics & Expansion

Once your colony grows, you must secure the galaxy to sustain it. Sky Scaffold respects your intellect by letting you build systems that connect seamlessly.

  • System Map: A 10x10 grid representing your solar system. Zones are safe empty space, resource planets, or dangerous zones with enemy bases and boss waves.

  • Fleet Command & Zone Sweeping: Combine up to five ships into synergized fleets to sweep threat zones. The card-based auto-battler combat allows you to defend assets while micromanaging from the UI.

  • Invasion Defense: Build automated turrets in your base that will fight waves of enemies and supply them with quality ammo.

  • Infinite Growth: There are no artificial limits to expansion. You can sweep adjacent zones indefinitely. The bigger you get, the bigger a target you become. Balance your growth with survival.

⚙️ Data-Driven Design & Philosophy

We believe in respecting the player's time and intelligence.

  • Discover Hidden Lore: The secret narrative layers of the Fourcade Expanse are hidden within rare items and documents. No help text, just logical deduction to uncover the truth.

  • Handcrafted on a Hobo Budget: All art, code, writing, and design is done by Jordan "Asleepius" Haus personally. Quality is the goal but gameplay depth and integrity come first. Content is designed to be both simple and accessible.  

  • Fair Play: There will be no microtransactions, loot boxes, paywalls, ads, subscriptions, premium currency. Progress is earned through action and logistics. There are no plans for any future paid DLC and all future content updates will be included in the purchase of the game, cosmetics are not off the table just need planning. You will never need to open your wallet to progress in Sky Scaffold.

  • Single Screen Cohesion: Build → Produce → Spend → Upgrade → Survive. Manage your power availability, storage caps, and dispatch routes from a unified interface.
