About This Game

Ignifugo is a top-down action-roguelike with elements borrowed from the auto-battler genre. Choose your own path through five biomes with procedurally generated maps as you control a combat shell with slots for placing upgradable units with different classes.

Select between different shells and unlock new ones. If you manage to defeat THE FLAME with a specific shell, you unlock additional difficulty levels for it, called incandescence. Each incandescence level provides permanent modifiers to the run, from enemy health variation to manipulating the map generation.

And who knows what might happen if one manages to beat the highest incandescence...

Units are placed in the shells and trigger their abilities automatically while you maneuver the character to avoid incoming hits. Borrowing from the auto-battler genre, each unit has their own abilities, belongs to a set of classes and can be leveled to gain health and additional abilities. Unlock class bonuses when placing multiple units of the same class. Each unit is damaged individually during fights and can break, leaving it unusable until after the fight is completed. If all units break your shell shatters and reveals the core – a second playable character which does not have access to unit abilities anymore.

Do not expect to breeze through every biome, over 60 enemies, elites and bosses with different move sets stand in your way. Defeat bosses and elites for item crystals which contain passive items. Prepare for heated battles if you want to stand against THE FLAME.

Over 120 different items can be bought or earned as rewards from elites, bosses and map encounters. Passive items apply permanent modifications, consumables trigger unique one-time effects, active items grant abilities and melee weapons provide an active way of outputting damage. Create millions of interesting builds by combining items with the units in your shell. If you want a shot against THE FLAME, smart choices matter!

Each run and fight is randomly generated. Select the right path for your build to move forward in your pursuit of THE FLAME. Choose wisely, as some actions and items modify the HEAT LEVEL - dynamically changing the difficulty. Higher heat reaps better rewards, but also makes fights harder. Will you play it save or risk burning yourself?
