About This Game

*Echoes of Taihang* is a single-player base-building and turn-based tactics game set in the Taihang Mountains during the war of resistance. You command an Eighth Route Army work team trying to keep a hidden base alive behind enemy lines.

Every road, field, clinic, warehouse and lookout changes what your people can survive. Resources are limited, enemy alertness is never static, and the safest operation is often the one you prepare before the fight begins.

### Build a Base That Can Endure

- Plan facilities, roads, storage, medical care, production and intelligence on an isometric grid.

- Assign people to construction, farming, gathering, transport, workshops and village work.

- Grow crops, manage livestock, store supplies and trade surplus goods to support future operations.

### Work With Communities

- Enter villages, respond to local needs and build trust without exposing the base.

- Explore a strategic mountain map shaped by terrain, roads, villages, intelligence and enemy alertness.

- Balance military readiness with the safety of the people who make resistance possible.

### Plan and Fight Tactical Operations

- Prepare teams, weapons, ammunition, medicine, routes and extraction plans.

- Conduct reconnaissance, ambush, rescue, sabotage and escort missions in turn-based battles.

- Use cover, elevation, distance, suppression, line of sight and overwatch to control the fight.

- Victory means more than defeating the enemy: complete the objective, protect your people and get out alive.

### Recover, Adapt, Continue

After every operation, casualties, ammunition, production and community relations return to the base-building cycle. Repair facilities, replenish supplies, reorganize the team and decide what the resistance can risk next.

The current version focuses on the core loop of base building, production, strategic exploration and tactical combat. More campaign content and historical stories are planned for future updates.
