Alex’s Journey to the Grave is a visual novel exploring the story of two characters: Alex, a 20-year-old boy with a kind and giving heart—despite being a little awkward in social situations—and Alex; a 20-year-old girl who shares both his name and good soul, but with a strong personality of her own and a cozy, cuddly demeanour.

Both characters find themselves trying—as best they can—to move on from difficult pasts; years of financial abuse from parents, a nightmarish event in high school… it will take a lot for them to finally escape their shells.

  Alex is no stranger to escaping into fantasy, whether that’s stories and videos from the internet, or books in his own two hands. He is obsessed with the joy and release of fiction; after moving to the city two years ago, he started working in a bookstore. It was everything and more he could have asked for in a job—but of course, the universe had other plans for him.

  Alex is a college student with a strong sense of responsibility, and a big heart for the ones she loves. But she spends all her time curled up in her room these days, watching anime or scrolling through social media; after what happened to her in highschool, anxiety has taken over her life. Even so—in fact, even more so than ever before—she still craves companionship. 
  

  

  AND WHAT ABOUT THE CAT?

  Alex often thinks about a particular cat from back in his hometown. He has never met another cat quite like her since he left… but he’s never found it in himself to go back and visit her, even after all she did for him; staying by his side when it felt like no one else would. 

  He'll never forget the intelligence, the deep understanding behind those eyes... almost unnatural.
