Why Early Access?

“Launching MK-Ultra Psychic Defense in early access will give me the level of feedback needed to properly calibrate the roguelite elements of the game. Rogue lites require fine tuned adjustments throughout their development in order to ensure the game is in its most playable state and that the decisions the player is making are actually compelling and fun.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“MK-Ultra Psychic Defense aims to give people a psychedelic conspiracy themed single player arcade rogue-lite tower defense experience.

Features I plan to add include but may not be limited to.
  • Unique character dialogues during boon selection with fully voiced characters
  • A meta progression system that lets players spend a resource collected in the main game mode. Upon spending this resource the player will gain power ups making future runs easier.
  • Improved enemy wave spawning with a greater variety of spawn-able enemies
  • New Boons that when unlocked mid run can change the behavior and synergies of towers.
  • A tutorial
  • Steam Achievements

About This Game

Hemisync Based Astral Projection

Defend your Kundalini energy spiral from the DMT elves. Place esoteric towers along a growing maze and stop waves of psychic invaders before they reach its center. Every kill brings Gnosis to spend on your defenses and psychic energy toward your next visit to the Akashik Records.

Unravel the Conspiracy

Pyramids, Third Eyes, Ankhs and other occult towers form your arsenal. Mix attacking towers with support effects, choose where to build, and decide when an upgrade is worth more than another tower. Pause to plan, then watch your defense go to work.

Access the Akashik Records

Fill your psychic-energy meter to access the Akashik Records and choose from three rewards. Add a tower, strengthen your arsenal, take a consumable, or bring a conspiracy card into your build. Each choice gives you a new way to approach the next wave.

Begin the Great Awakening.

Conspiracy cards change the rules of a run. Find effects that complement your towers, stack compatible bonuses, and experiment with combinations. Your defense is more than the towers you place: it is the build taking shape around them.

Obtain Gnosis

Defeat psychic invaders to obtain Gnosis, then spend it to strengthen your defenses. Extend the paths through a procedurally generated maze, face tougher waves, and see how long your mind can hold. When a run ends, try a different approach.
