Why Early Access?

“We aim to create an experience that's dense with content and constantly entertaining. We believe that the best method to achieve these goals is meaningful community involvement. Early Access will help us to pinpoint exactly which features players want reduced or expanded, so that we can work towards the kind of game you're most excited to play.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We are planning for a v1.0 release within 6 months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan for the full release of Skam to feature more skams, calls and general content than the Early Access version, with Boris encountering a larger cast of wacky characters to call and berate.

The final game length is planned to be between 3-4.5 hours for a given playthrough.

We are also hoping to localize the game for our fans from non-English speaking countries. At this stage, we are only aiming to include text translations.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“We have completed roughly 1.5 hours worth of call content, with visual elements and basic gameplay structure also in place.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will likely rise as we approach a v1.0 release. We want to reward those who get involved early and support development in Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Our plan is to monitor player feedback through all our channels, as well as asking for player input (e.g. community polls) to help improve the game throughout its development.”

Welcome to the Institute Of Skam!


You are Boris, the newest employee of a scam call center in Plövka, a tiny Eastern European dictatorship.

Newly emerged from isolation, Plövkans must find new ways to make money, but are
clueless about the modern world. Overcome your ignorance to cleverly deceive
Westerners, using a range of scams. Bask in the glory of your grateful nation, earn a few kropeks, and avoid being fired (and returning to your former job in the fluoride mines).

                    * Make calls and steer the scam towards a successful ending.
                    * Navigate dialogue options ranging from friendly to furious.
                    * Different targets might be chatty, nervous or belligerent
                       (and everything in between).
                    * Base your dialogue choices on the targets' personalities and moods.





                    * Talk to plenty of different callers, all with distinctive personas.
                    * Every line of caller dialogue is fully voiced.

                    





                    * You have a short fuse. Manage your irritation, or it will boil over into rage,
                       causing you to explode during promising calls and ruin them.
                    * Find ways to manage stress between calls.
                    * Lower stress during calls by yelling at trolls and timewasters.

                    





                    * Unlock new and increasingly diabolical scams.
                    * Each one works on a different type of target, so you’ll have to master them all.
                    * Use your Book of Skam to guide you through tricky calls.

All voice recordings in the game are performed by a human, but AI Speech to Speech synthesis is used on some dialogue to provide more variety to the voices present in the game. Text to Speech synthesis is not used.
