What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Dead Dock Protocol is a co-op, systems driven game built around progression, builds, and replay-ability. That kind of game lives or dies by balance, feel, and long-term fun and those things can only truly be perfected with real players in the loop.

Early Access lets us build Dead Dock Protocol together with the community.

We want your feedback to help shape:

Weapon balance across all manufacturers and gun types

D0K chip builds and progression paths

Difficulty scaling for solo and 1–4 player co-op

Enemy density, chaos, and overall game flow

The Command Center, unlock systems, and long-term progression

These systems behave very differently once players start experimenting, optimizing, and breaking things in ways we can’t predict internally.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect Dead Dock Protocol to remain in Early Access for about one year.

This time will be used to expand the game in meaningful ways and polish the experience based on player feedback.

Over the course of Early Access, we plan to:

Add new missions, enemies, and agents

Expand progression systems like D0K chips, unlockables, and the Command Center

Improve balance, performance, and co-op flow

Refine difficulty, pacing, and long-term replay-ability

Add new features and systems as the game evolves

We don’t want to rush Dead Dock Protocol out the door. It’s a systems-heavy, co-op focused game, and those benefit enormously from time, iteration, and real player feedback.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full 1.0 release of Dead Dock Protocol is planned to be a more complete, more polished, and more content-rich version of the game.

During Early Access, you’ll be playing the core foundation of DDP. By the time we reach 1.0, the game is planned to include:

More missions, environments, and agents

More enemy types, encounters, and gameplay variations

A more fully realized progression system with D0K chips, unlockables, and upgrades

A more expanded and refined Command Center

Better balance across weapons, builds, and co-op play

Improved pacing, difficulty scaling, and overall game flow

More polish, performance improvements, and quality-of-life features

And more content to come after the release of 1.0”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“What You Can Play Today

The DDP Holodock with varied objectives and enemy encounters

1–4 player co-op (Remote Play) with scaling difficulty depending on how many players

Combat systems featuring multiple weapon types and tactical special ammo options

Command Center hub where players gather and ready up for the Holodock

Enemy types & behaviors that provide dynamic combat challenges plus a boss battle”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to offer Dead Dock Protocol at a lower price during Early Access as a way to thank early adopters for supporting the game while it’s still in development.

As development progresses and we add more content, features, and polish, the price will increase slightly when we reach the full 1.0 release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We’re building Dead Dock Protocol alongside our community, and Discord and Twitch are a huge part of that.

Throughout Early Access, we plan to:

Actively gather feedback on our Discord

Run Twitch dev streams showing new features, updates, and work-in-progress content

Talk openly about design decisions, balance changes, and upcoming features

Let players test new ideas and help shape the direction of the game

Use community feedback to prioritize fixes, improvements, and new content”
