Why Early Access?

“Beatblock is a large undertaking by a small team, and while we've been making things work so far it's been on a very limited budget. Since we're a rhythm game with an unconventional format, an Early Access launch lets us see feedback so we can stabilize our chart design and learn what works. It also means we can get the game into more people's hands sooner, and have the funds to better support our developers going forward! ”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to be in Early Access for around a year, and ideally reach our intended scope for the full version by November/December 2026. That brings our song list from the initial 27 to a whopping 40+ songs!”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Most of the differences between Early Access and the full game will be content-focused. That means new songs, costumes, and expansion of other modes such as the Marathon mode! Additionally, we'll be working on improvements for accessibility and user experience to keep things as smooth as possible.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“We have all of our core mechanics in for the game, as well as the overall unlock progression and primary modes of play implemented. Some levels are missing one of their difficulty variants or have parts we want to polish more, but are still playable!”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We have no plans currently to raise the price of the game during or after Early Access, but we may launch paid DLC later down the line.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We'll be keeping an eye on feedback and communicating regularly through our Discord server and social media accounts! We also have a Github for submitting bug reports that we'll keep up throughout Early Access, and will be exploring new ways for fans to be more closely involved with development.”
