What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“CaveVox is, first and foremost, an indie game being developed by a single person. The roguelike genre itself requires a solid world generation system, a well-thought-out world, and overall game quality. CaveVox is not a typical roguelike, but rather about dungeon exploration and sandbox elements at the same time. You can play alone or with friends, follow your own goal in the dungeon, and each time everything can be completely different. That’s why bringing the game to high quality takes time and feedback. Every player's opinion about the game, and the feelings you have after spending a long time in its world, are important.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Nothing can be promised for certain, but the results and update frequency will be indicators of progress. The more successful the steps taken toward the development of the game, the less time it will remain in this format. Progress is quite fast, and the speed of development can also be evaluated by the released Devlogs. The critical period during which Early Access is expected to last may be up to several months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The release version of the game is a transitional moment when we will no longer be able to release updates as often, since most ideas will already be implemented and the game itself will become stable. At the same time, the stable version will also receive updates and fixes.

We plan to include in the stable version a richer environment, varied monster and dungeon behavior, character progression, many dungeon levels, and 4-player co-op.

Therefore, when a few months of Early Access pass and several major updates are released, the game will be ready for the release version.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The first Devlog about CaveVox was released on June 29, 2025 — the 12th day of development. The Devlogs allow good tracking of the game’s development, mechanics, and lore. The main focus is on the depth of the game — optimization, stability, graphics and music, as well as the development of original gameplay mechanics.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“CaveVox will have key distribution for reviews and temporary discounts. There are no plans to raise the price during Early Access. Everyone who buys it at this time for $6 or during a discount will get it cheaper than after release. After release, the game will consistently cost $8, which supports those who backed the early development. DLCs for the game are not planned — all updates, both during Early Access and after release, will be available to everyone who bought the game, without splitting into parts.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We are ready to strictly follow the planned campaign to promote CaveVox. This includes a demo version of the game, discounts, giveaways, involvement of influencers and regular players. All of this is aimed at ensuring players enjoy their time in the game, help fix possible bugs, and improve it in all aspects. Players’ feedback is important both during Early Access and after. It will directly influence the game mechanics, the game world and its content, the number of language translations, and connection stability. We will be glad to receive support and interact with the gaming community to create a game that we ourselves want to keep playing. You can share feedback on platforms other than Steam, where the game also publishes its updates, or by other means.”
