Misgiven is an emotional 2D sci-fi adventure game about the lump in your throat and how difficult it can be to open up to others.

As Cassandra, a space adventurer stranded in a city of masks and unbreathable fog, you come across the mask of an explorer, whose role you'll have to play to stay alive and deliver a warning no one wants to hear. But how well can you pretend to be someone else, and how far will you go?

EXPERIENCE THE WORLD THROUGH THE MASK OF A STRANGER

Wear Kasturi's mask and pretend you're her to survive.
Investigate her past, discover her social circle and find out what happened to her.
Take on her role in order to save the city, or let the mask slip.

WRESTLE WITH YOUR WORDS AND MAKE MEANINGFUL CHOICES

As a lonely space explorer in an identity crisis, your social anxiety makes it difficult to open up to others.

Dialogue options - your thoughts - have different emotional weights.
Your openness to another person can change over time, and new topics can become available.
Play it safe and stick to small-talk, or try to squeeze in difficult topics for a chance to connect deeply, and risk being misunderstood.
Pick a side in a socio-political maelstrom facing environmental disaster: the hyper-individualistic Mar anarchists, the techno-collectivist Listeners who keep no secrets, or your corporate bosses pressuring you to finish your job.

EXPLORE A CITY SHROUDED IN MYSTERY

You are stranded in the city of Koriol - a sprawling metropolis built on the rim of a giant crater, veiled in toxic fog.

Get lost in hazy, neon-lit streets.
Exchange your mask's air filter to survive in the fog.
Visit rundown night clubs and floating temples.
Try to make this place your home.

EXPRESS YOURSELF WITH HOLOGRAPHIC EMOTES

Acquire an entire holographic emote inventory.
Convey a certain tone and change the course of the conversation.
Show off your connections and get access to people and places.
And flip off anyone who's earned it.
