«The game is 60% complete and playable. Player feedback would be greatly appreciated. I welcome constructive criticism. The story is already fully planned and set in stone but there is a lot of space for fine tuning and improvement.»

«I release on a "when it's ready" basis and would have a hard time giving an accurate estimation. The development started in the second half of 2019 and with about 300,000 words of content, the game is now 60 % complete. Most of the content is definitive. The game will spend a few years in early access as the amount of content that has yet to be implemented is massive. I don't expect it to be finished before 2027/2028.»

«As of May 2024, the story has reached the evening of Day 6. The whole story is already planned and the final version should go up to the morning of Day 9. The game already includes 15 different paths out of the 18 routes planned and I intend to give each path its own unique ending.
You can reasonably expect the final version to be twice as big, content-wise. Improvements in the UI department and several additional features are also planned.»

«As of May 2024, the game contains about 300,000 words of content (for the sake of comparison, that's as many words as a volume of ASOIAF) and 6000 images. 15 paths (out of the 18 planned) are available. Two paths have reached their conclusions. Some parts of the early days have to be reworked in order to bring the overall quality up, but most of the content is definitive.»

«The Naughty Captain's Discord channel is open to all and is the best place to engage with the community, discuss the game, and get some hints about the coming content. I publish a weekly "Dev Update" in which I talk about the development of the game, the progress, and eventual difficulties. Transparency is the basis of trust. I think it's important.»

Om spillet

Jack is 18 years old and enjoying his summer break. While his parents are away for the week, he has little else to do except relax by the pool and keep an eye on the bane of his existence, the ever-misbehaving Eve.

It's a recipe for disaster unless Eve's best friend, the enticing and luscious Cassie, meddles in their unfinished business and coaxes them toward reconciliation. But she'll need to act fast. As their days of living under the same roof draw to a close, time is running out for Jack and Eve.

With a vicious and insidious new danger lurking at their periphery, Jack will need to grow up fast if he hopes to protect his friends, his loved ones... and maybe even his own life.

You play Jack. What path will you choose?

Summer Scent is a visual novel and character-driven story that your decisions will shape.

Through a combination of critical choices, you will influence the narrative and forge your own path. Your actions will have consequences, good or bad, pleasurable or nefarious, wholesome or destructive.

There are eighteen different routes and several variations for you to explore.
