Was die Entwickler zu sagen haben:

Wozu Early Access?

„I received a grant from NI Screen to develop this prototype. I had fixed time and resources to make a first-stage Early Access release to show to potential publishers. And here it is!

I've a huge list of new design ideas, gameplay features, monsters and environments in the pipeline, which I'm seeking feedback from the community to see which are most popular. It's pointless implementing new features that noone else actually likes the sound of!

Firstly, I'm currently implementing keyboard, mouse and gamepad controls so non-VR players can enjoy the game too.

Then, with the community's input, I'll put together a roadmap of features which we can work through - keeping the ones which work, discarding the ones that don't. I'm aiming for a December release, but that isn't set in stone. I'm talking to publishers to assist with marketing, influencers and so on to make sure the game is discoverable and doesn't disappear without trace.

I've made lots of games (over 100 commercially) on lots of platforms, for studios I've set up myself or worked as CEO/CTO for. Now I'm looking to return to IndieDev with a team of trusted friends willing to come on board and help.“

Wie lange wird dieses Spiel ungefähr den Early Access-Status haben?

„9 months.“

Wie soll sich die Vollversion von der Early Access-Version unterscheiden?

„There are plans to add new environments and monsters, powerups and traps, puzzles which unlock new areas, possibly a two or multiplayer mode, there's so many things we could add - I'll post these in the community channel.

One thing I'm keen to explore is a Trump version, for he truly is the scariest of monsters.“

Was ist der derzeitige Stand der Early Access-Version?

„This EA version has the basic gameplay:
* Choosing the maze or dark dungeon
* Moving around the maze
* Collecting Skulls to use as distractions
* Playing 'statues' with Rex so he doesn't eat you
* Finding a switch to activate the exit portal
* Exit the maze to complete the game
* Physical movement as well as thumbstick“

Wird dieses Spiel während und nach Early Access unterschiedlich viel kosten?

„Yes. This EA version is discounted to attract as many early adopters into the community as possible; giving feedback and direction for a successful launch outcome.

As the game expands and I feel the game has hit a milestone in gameplay and content, the price will increase, until ultimately once EA has completed, the price will inkeeping with a quality indie title, whilst also offering value for money.“

Wie werden Sie versuchen die Community in den Entwicklungsprozess miteinzubeziehen?

„I want the community to help drive the features and gameplay I include, so development time isn't wasted on fluff. It's such a simple game, I want to add to it, without it becoming overwhelming.

For example, should we have procedurally generated or designer-crafted mazes/dungeons? There's pros and cons to each. Which monsters shall we introduce? Which IP holders should I approach to include licensed characters as monsters? Would multiplayer actually be enjoyable beyond the initial gimmick? These questions and more are what I'm seeking opinions and direction on from the EA community. “
