What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“This dungeon crawler is unique in this genre due to its novel dungeon changing room card mechanics and the procedurally generated dungeon dice structure. In order to perfect this idea in a full version, it is important to receive a lot of feedback. Players can help by suggesting their own ideas that can be taken into account during development. Since the actual gameplay already works smoothly and there are already many interested players, the decision to create an early access version was easy.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“There is only one person working on this project, so it is impossible to give an exact release date. It will probably take two or more years to reach full release. During the Early Access period, updates will be released regularly and announcements will be made via the Steam Community Hub.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The following points are still missing and are planned to be added while the EA status:

  • More monsters / bosses with different mechanics
  • The following rooms are still being finalized: merchant, gaming, artifacts
  • Artifacts tell a story about the dungeons/monsters (*no real story)
  • Trophy area for collected artifacts
  • More skills in the skill tree
  • More spaceships with different designs and other properties
  • More passive/active equipment and items for the dungeon
  • Deeper/better balancing
  • More design elements for the rooms, more graphical improvements
  • Depending on feedback, further bug fixing, optimization, requests, ...

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version will contain full functional gameplay and offers the player an already stable structure. The game is specifically designed for playing with a controller (alternatively keyboard, NO mouse control). A well-developed settings menu and well-functioning controls with icons are already built in. The player can expect:

  • Explore endless procedurally generated dungeons (cubes) with replay value, exciting atmosphere and unique design.
  • Play with your favorite spaceship and discover dangerous monsters/bosses, learn interesting mechanics, find items and equipment, reach rare rooms, ... within an exciting atmosphere. Find new ways by manipulating the dungeon.
  • Seed system ensures exact repeatability, whereby the design of the rooms is deliberately changed to make it visually interesting even when repeated
  • Each dungeon is a cube with 6 sides and 16 rooms on each side. These can be explored beyond the edge of the cube and thus offer 6 individual "biomes"
  • The 6 "biomes": High Area, Entrance, Passway, Danger Sector, Cross Over and Cube Center always form a dungeon and can be reached in different ways.
  • Collecting room cards that can be inserted into the dungeon. This means that EVERY dungeon can also be manipulated and players can always take different paths.
  • Room types: Common, room cards, boss, activation, artifacts, passive equipment, active equipment, traders, gaming, ...
  • Spaceship classes: Cruisers, Frigate, Dreadnought, Battleship and Fighter
  • Spaceships: (1x per class in EA) Rayzor, Storm, Wing, Kraken and Night
  • Passive and active equipment with rarity system can be found in the dungeons.
  • Sophisticated buff system, statistics system and property display system
  • Create your own universe by statistically saving the dungeons you play.
  • Collect dark matter and activate dungeons (permanent currency) to unlock powerful new skills in the skill tree
  • Collect cube coins (temporary currency) to progress in the dungeon and perform actions
  • Initial balancing with different difficulty levels to offer every player a pleasant but challenging experience.
  • Already many quality of life elements such as: All "video sequences" (e.g. dungeon intro) can be skipped by the player in order to offer the greatest possible action in the long term

and much more...”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will probably increase for the full version. This will be decided together with the community and depends on the final implemented content.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Beside the classic channels, a large part of the development takes place on Twitch (live streams) and in close cooperation with the players. However, the Steam Community Hub serves as the most important tool and central point of contact for everyone.”

About This Game

Games by FreeTimeDevelopment

Created by a passionate solo indie game developer from Germany.

Overview

Manipulate gigantic cube-shaped dungeons in this sci-fi action roguelite. Shift rooms, discover hidden paths and fight your way deeper into the Cube to uncover the truth behind its existence.

A Living Cube (Dungeons)

Every dungeon is a gigantic cube made up of interconnected rooms. But the Cube is not static.

Shift rooms across the edges of the Cube, create new paths and discover hidden areas. Every action changes the dungeon itself.

The deeper you go, the stronger the Cube reacts to your presence.

Build Your Own Spaceship

Do not simply choose a ship — build your own.

Combine hull, weapon and engine to create your personal build. Different ship parts affect stats, gameplay feel, attack style and survivability.

Whether you prefer a fast fighter, a durable tank or an aggressive damage build: your ship defines how you challenge the Cube.

Room Cards Are YOUR Key

Find special Room Cards and manipulate the dungeon itself.

New paths appear. Old connections disappear. Hidden rooms become reachable.

But every decision changes your future route.

Use the Cube’s structure to your advantage and find the activation room to unlock powerful long-term abilities.

The Cube Evolves

The longer you remain inside the Cube, the more dangerous it becomes.

Monsters level up, develop new attack patterns and turn even familiar rooms into deadly threats.

The Cube is watching you.

Fragments, Activation and the Path to the Center

Fragments, activation rooms and clues about a deeper origin are hidden within the Cube.

Collect Gate Fragments, activate the Cube and prepare for the descent into its center. Because eventually, your journey will no longer lead only through the dungeon — but into its heart.

Create Your Own Playstyle

Combine active and passive equipment to further shape your build. Discover powerful equipment with different rarity tiers:

Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic and Legendary.

Every run offers new combinations, risks and possibilities.

Rewards, Traders and Progression

Collect Cube Coins during your runs, discover valuable equipment and use trader rooms and special rooms to improve your build strategically.

Dark Matter and activated Cubes provide long-term progression through the skill tree and unlock new possibilities for future runs.

Discover the Truth Behind the Cube

You are not the first.

Between the rooms lie traces of previous pilots, lost artifacts and fragments of a truth that should never have been discovered.

What is the Cube really?

Explore Six Unique Sectors

Each side of the Cube features its own style, enemies and atmosphere.

  • Entrance — technical and controlled

  • Passway — cold and mysterious

  • High Area — dangerous and mechanical

  • Danger Sector — unstable and aggressive

  • Cross Over — chaotic and action-packed

  • Cube Center — alive and disturbing

One Seed. Endless Possibilities.

The seed system allows exact reproduction of a Cube while encounters and room contents continue to evolve. Test new routes, discover alternative strategies and challenge yourself.

Or share your seed with friends and compare your decisions inside the same Cube.

Statistics or Memory? Your Universe Grows With Every Run

Every explored Cube becomes part of your personal universe. Track your greatest explorations, revisit known seeds and improve your routes with new builds and abilities.
