What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“This is my first release of a twin stick shooter, and I want to ensure it's balanced well and has the right feature set. The feedback from the community has been great so far, and I'd like to continue evolving the game to enhance its replayability.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I estimate the game will be in Early Access for another 3-6 months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Plans for the full version include:
* More levels
* More power-ups
* Varied enemies and attack patterns
* Secondary fire
* Boss mechanics”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current Early Access version includes a complete and fairly well-balanced game loop with a single level to keep players interested for several hours with its score attack mechanic.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I may consider a slight price increase as new content and features are shipped.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Through heavy interaction with the players on Steam, the Godot Discords, and the Seattle Indies Discord.”

About This Game

Enter a neon-charged battleground where survival meets explosive energy in this retro, space-themed twin-stick shooter! As you dance through waves of geometric adversaries, each defeated enemy leaves behind a deadly debris field—lure other enemies into these hazard zones to trigger devastating chain reactions and score multipliers.

Snag powerful upgrades that temporarily boost your ship's offensive and defensive capabilities while you craft the perfect storm of destruction, turning enemy movements into opportunities for spectacular combos. Set your own pace in this sleek, modern take on classic arcade action, where minimalist design meets pixel particle effects in a sea of vibrant colors.

A NOTE ABOUT EARLY ACCESS

During Early Access, you'll be playing World 1 that consists of 10 waves of increasingly difficult and numerous foes. I will be creating new Worlds and the ability to transit between them. You can also expect the following when the game comes out of EA:

  • Enemies already have different movement patterns and stats (speed, health), but they are of just one type. Expect lots more variety and maybe a refactor of the existing ones.

  • I'd like to add impact damage if you slam into a wall at high velocity. Equally, I'd like to add a ship "thrust" upgrade to allow you to plow into the enemies, inflicting collateral damage.

  • More power-ups, ship upgrades and possibly roguelike additions. I'd love your suggestions in the Steam discussion forums, the support website, or via email/social below.

SIMPLE CONTROLS

Mastering Electro Havoc is easy: Use the two joysticks (or WASD+LMB) to control your ship and spray bullets in the general direction of your foes.

YOUR SHIP

Take control of the Starfighter X-7, a lightning-fast combat ship that comes equipped with devastating weapon systems, perfect for carving through waves of geometric baddies. Just... don't let them touch you.

SHIP UPGRADES

As you progress through the levels, you'll spot offensive and defensive power-ups that last for a few moments in-game -- listen for the audible cue that they're running out. Grab them on the map before they disappear!

Defensive Power-ups

  • Health: Regen your ship's health: Regenerates one of your Ship's health bars.

  • Shield: Grants temporarily invulnerability: Take a breather and enjoy the briefest of reprieves.

Offensive Power-ups

  • Tri-blaster: Broader spray pattern: Just aim in the general direction in the ultimate spray 'n pray armament.

  • Mega blaster: Faster rate of fire and a larger projectile: Take down enemies with ease as this weapon absolutely shreds your adversaries.

ENEMIES

In World 1, you face off the pointiest of foes: The Shard. As you advance through the waves, they'll grow in size, health and possibly speed but will also introduce new attack patterns like flanking, waving about, and pulsing, to name a few. Stay vigilant!

System Requirements

    Minimum:
    • OS: Windows 10
    • Processor: Modern dual-core processor at 2.0GHz or better
    • Memory: 4 GB RAM
    • Graphics: 2GB VRAM, OpenGL 3+
    • Storage: 150 MB available space
