About This Game

Inspired by Shanghai, Luoshandu is a lively pixel-art metropolis—and the place where your game development dream begins.

In Game Designer Simulator, you play as a fresh university graduate. With limited savings, a few belongings, and dreams of joining the games industry, you move into an unfamiliar rented apartment.

Take on part-time jobs to make ends meet, study the craft, face job interviews, and finally join a development team. Through the laughter and tears of city life, you’ll grow from a clueless rookie into a true game designer.

But landing the job is only the beginning. Workplace pressure, personal relationships, and constant clashes of ideas will test your abilities and choices. Once you’ve gained enough experience and found companions willing to stand beside you, a new path will open: secure funding, build your own team, lead a project, and create the “10/10 masterpiece” you’ve always dreamed of!

Roadside bicycles, plane trees, utility poles, stray cats, storefronts, benches, and passersby—almost everything you see can be interacted with! Wander through Luoshandu’s bustling streets and quiet neighborhoods. Explore shops, alleyways, and distinctive city landmarks, and discover new details hidden within familiar scenes of everyday life.

Build meaningful relationships with more than 20 neighbors and over 20 coworkers at game studios! Get to know a rich cast of NPCs—their joys, frustrations, hopes, and fears. As your bonds deepen, you’ll discover sides of them few people ever see and hear the worries and dreams they rarely voice. From strangers to trusted friends, every relationship will become a treasured part of your life in the city.

During the Employee Phase, choose a company and begin your career as a game designer. Experience in-depth management gameplay and entertaining minigames. Meet different colleagues, face different events, and make choices that shape your career. If the company isn’t right for you, you can always change jobs—or save enough money to start your own game studio.  

During the Producer Phase, you can finally create a game of your own. Will you stay true to your vision, or put everything else aside and focus on profit? Battle passes and lucky wheels may make money, but they don’t always make a game more fun. You’ll need to carefully balance how each feature affects your project. Recruit and train employees, and even invite old friends from earlier in your career to build the game alongside you.
