About This Game

BEYOND TENMEI is a dice-based RPG with an emphasis on managing a simple set of resources to fight back against RNG and surmount the challenges within multiple game-modes.

Moving through stages and fighting enemies all involve rolling dice. The dice won't always roll in your favor, but you can spend MP to cast spells and change any dice on the board. Weigh the cost of doing so carefully, however, as running out of MP before a bad roll can be rather grave!

All combatants, friendly or hostile, will react to the dice based on what Talents they possess. Keep the dice off of values that benefit the opponent while trying to trigger your own synergies and combos!


-GAME MODES-

BEYOND TENMEI features a variety of game-modes to appeal to fans of the "Rogue-lite" genre as well as the linear story-based progression you've come to expect from more traditional RPGs.


Classic Mode - Journey as a lone Brave of Salvation against the Demon Lord's forces in a 100-space, rogue-lite session where you choose new spells as you progress! The Brave can level up by defeating enemies, and there are multiple power-ups along the way.

Rebel Mode - This remix of Classic Mode allows you to play a short game with a party of monster-kin adventurers instead of a lone hero! You still pick new spells and collect power-ups as you progress, but this party does not level up.

Story Mode - A longer, persistent game mode that follows the story of a group of monster-kin as they discover the truth of their world. This twist on the plot of many RPG stories will take you through 16 stages with persistent character progression and customization. Completing stages and fulfilling objectives will award items that power up your party, allowing you to unlock slots for Talents and Spells and confront increasingly menacing opponents. This is the mode for those who wish to see their characters grow, and for those who like to develop powerful builds and synergies!
