Varför Early Access?

“Although content wise, Pretend Cars Racing 2 has all its base content already in place for the 1.0 release, there are some features that still need some work and community feedback. For that reason, we decided to launch the game in Early Access, with a 1.0 version coming a few months later.”

Ungefär hur länge kommer det här spelet att vara i Early Access?

“There are 4 big upgrades planned during the Early Access period, each coming approximately a month apart from each other, with a 1.0 version targeting a launch between August and October of 2026.”

“The four features coming into the game before the 1.0 release are as follows:
v0.3 / April ’26 > Rewind: ability to rewind time during single-player races
v0.5 / May ’26 > Track Builder & Workshop support: build, edit and share your creations
v0.7 / June ’26 > Custom championships: create your own championships
v0.9 / August ’26 > Career Mode: simulate the progression of a young driver, starting from the driving academy till making it into the biggest categories in motor sports.”

“You can access all the content of the 1.0 version, with 80 vehicles and almost 40 tracks, playing races against AI and split-screen multiplayer, fight for the top spot in the global leaderboards and play though championships.”

“We're not planning on changing the price when we leave early access.”

“As we did when we launched the demo and our previous game, we encourage players to share feedback and ideas. We love the genre and we tried to do the perfect game that we would play day in and day out, but there is always room for improvement.
Your feedback will impact on how cars behave, the implementation of the rewind feature, the final form of the track builder UI and the type of content that will come next.

Pretend Cars Racing is back—rebuilt from the ground up. Keeping its signature balance between arcade fun and simulation feel, Pretend Cars Racing 2 brings more cars, more tracks, and more ways to race. Create and share custom circuits with the built-in Track Creator and Steam Workshop support, experience a dynamic day–night cycle designed for long multi-class events, and enjoy a long list of improvements across the board.

A refreshed physics approach makes the game instantly enjoyable from your very first laps—yet deeply rewarding as you improve. You’ll find yourself chasing that perfect lap time whether you’re racing AI, battling friends, or pushing for the top spot on the global leaderboards.

The game supports split-screen multiplayer so you can race against friends, locally or via the Internet even if they don't own a copy, through Steam's Let's Play Together!

CONTENT

The base game includes 37 tracks inspired by real-world circuits and original layouts, plus 7 car categories spanning multiple eras of motorsport—each demanding a different driving style.

TRACK CREATOR & CUSTOMIZATION

Alongside nearly 40 included tracks, you can expand the roster with your own creations or community-made circuits. The Track Creator is easy to use and fully integrated with Steam Workshop. You can also customize the names and looks of the entire driver grid to make every championship feel personal.

DAY–NIGHT CYCLE

Time progression during races adds fresh challenges. Let the hours pass naturally—or speed them up for faster transitions—to recreate night races and endurance-style events, even under the rain.

UPDATED PHYSICS MODEL

The revised handling model improves control and steering feel, and supports FWD, RWD, and AWD cars. It brings the game closer to simulation while keeping its arcade spirit.

ENHANCED VISUAL EFFECTS

It’s not just lighting: upgraded particle effects, improved audio, and persistent skid marks make every race feel more intense and alive.
