Why Early Access?

“PacaPomo has benefitted greatly from being an accessible completely free title. It is currently a solid package that serves as a cute, fun Pomodoro app. That being said, we have more in store for PacaPomo before it is ready for a 1.0 launch. Early Access will let us test these new features out, gather feedback from the community, and collect more analytical data on what's working and not. Early Access also makes it clear to players that this is a WIP title.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“PacaPomo will likely be in early access for a year or two depending on the development and playtest help we get throughout Early Access”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Final release should have at least 15 alpacas total to adopt, more minigames, more music, and a fresh coat of polish for both UI and animation. You'll also be able to sign in to a user account and carry your saves across devices”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Currently, PacaPomo is a functioning gamified pomodoro app that is nearly feature complete.

Features you can expect to see:
- A Pomodoro timer with custom time intervals and many options you'd expect such as long-breaks, a productivity log, and automatically continuing from breaks to focus
- A light alpacas pet sim where you can adopt, pet, shear, and feed alpacas.
- A light farming sim where you can grow crops, harvest them, sell them, and use them to feed your alpacas.
- A game loop that is tightly integrated with the pomodoro timer
- 3 music tracks to play during your focus time
- 4 alpacas to adopt + 1 you get immediately
- 2 minigames: Cooking and Shearing
- Expansion opportunities where you can purchase land to plant more and uncover new gameplay features (More in the future)

It's still a bit unpolished, especially in terms of UI, and you can expect to find some bugs here and there as you play. However, the game is cute, fun, and offers you a reward for your IRL tasks. If this is what you're looking for, you're in the right place!”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Sort of. Throughout EA, we will be transitioning from an entirely free game to free with paid cosmetics.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We'll be paying close attention to the posts within the Steam Community Hub. We're taking feedback, suggestions, and bug reports and responding to them as soon as we can. We're always looking for playtesters in our community discord. You can find the link in Steam's links section on this page. We take our playtesters' feedback seriously, so whatever burning questions or suggestions you have, please let us know.
