What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We've recently funded the project via Kickstarter raising a 113K over 30days, with over 900 people joining our adventure. While this gave us an initial burst of capital, it is a long term project that will require more features to be added over time.

We'd love for more people to join our adventure and help us not only try out what we're building but actively help us make it better. There were many features we had planned to implement that we still want to add later.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We aim for a full release in about a year.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“For the full version on release we plan to have least one medieval fantasy UI and one other UI theme you can select.

We aim to allow you to import new monsters/enemies, NPC's and other types of data into your Realms from different file types.

In the future, we're looking to implement an easy way for you to play with your friends and invite them to a session online from their own device.

We plan to implement a back end system that saves you're realms as well, so you have access to them as a DM on any device in case of an emergency. As well as a log in system.

We plan to support different map format types from other map making software to ensure proper functionality with them in Realm Architect.

And finally we aim to do this for as many TTRPG's as we can.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Quickly build Realms (worlds) by linking them together with scenechange markers, draw walls fast where needed, drag tokens from the codex on the map, and start playing your campaign.

With the splitscreen feature, you'll already be able to share your screen with your players over discord, teams or google meet to get playing quickly. It mimics the DM-Screen at your table, with players not able to see what menu's you're navigating or info you're looking up.

Add some notes to keep track of what's going on in the world, add descriptions to markers so you remember what's going on.

Add multiple maps to one layer and reorganize them into a layout that works for you, add new maps later on if you forgot one or when players finally discover the next part of your world!”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We aim to offer multiple payment options upon release:

1) Creating an account will be free, and come with one Realm (or world to build) and one campaign to use in your world.
2)Buy content from the marketplace and play it forever
3)Have an active subscription, and have unlimited worlds and campaigns to play in.

We also aim to offer subscribers access to free content from creators on the platform while subscribed.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“During our first playtest, backers will actively be able to give feedback to us to help future development plans. During later playtests we'll keep this proces active so we know for sure if we're on the right track according to you. Ofcourse we do have a perticular vision, so this doesn't mean we'll always implement everything suggested, but we'll always take feedback to heart in a serious manner.

We're pretty active on the discord channel and our moderator and community manager are always available to answer questions or concerns. There's a functionality there that we've been using for the past year, to give us feedback over discord by opening a ticket. We respond to these quite quickly!

In later stages, being subscribed gives you a right to let us know what you think we should be working on next! We'll propose some features and allow you to suggest some to us as well, ensuring those voices are heard.

If you tried it and didn't like it once we've launched, we'll be asking you to fill out a survey if you so want to, to let us know what is missing according to you.”

About This Game

Realm Architect is a new Virtual Tabletop solution with a modern and intuitive user interface. It completely changes the way you create and play campaigns, making it easier than ever before to set up entire worlds, or Realms as we prefer to call them, and removing the time-consuming stress of preparing everything down to the most minor of details.

Realm Architect is MORE than just another Virtual TableTop:
  • It uses a VTT base as the blueprint, with all your data available in a digital platform
  • but layers the accessibility of (single-player) RPG videogames on top,
  • and adds a host of easy-to-learn worldbuilding tools GMs have been craving for.

To empower you to create the best stories ever told, that’s what Realm Architect is all about! Build quickly entire realms for your players to adventure through.

Realm Architect requires zero coding. Every essential element is right there for you to drag & drop onto your map. The possibilities are endless, whether you want to upload your own character sheets and monster manuals or use existing ones, it's as easy as the click of a button.

Want to use your own maps? Just upload them and scale the grid as you see fit!
As life goes on, game masters often find themselves with a lack of time to keep investing in their running campaigns. Fatigue sets in, and you risk losing your motivation to keep planning ahead and gathering all the resources or inspiration needed for the next session.

We've tried a lot of VTT solutions ourselves, and understand the struggles all too well. Other tools require too much time to set up or require the GM to almost have an engineer's degree worth of technical know-how. It's gotten too complicated and with all the feature creep, it's become impossible to find the most basic of things you're looking for.

After a long day’s work and coming home, the last thing you want to do is learn how to use one of the many VTTs out there, before even being able to start building your campaign!
