Coming Soon To Early Access

The developers of this game intend to release as a work in progress, developing with the feedback of players.

Note: Games in Early Access are not complete and may or may not change further. If you are not excited to play this game in its current state, then you should wait to see if the game progresses further in development. Learn more

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“To get the feedback and try to evolve the game into something that YOU would like to see. We believe that an educational puzzle game like Hard Chip can hit the mark only with the player's feedback.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Aiming at a year.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“At first, the Early Access will include Chapter One: 8bit adder. We want the complete game to include multiple chapters to have a path to a full 8bit processor through many more puzzles and challenges.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Hard Chip contains
  • Chapter One: 8bit adder.
  • The starting area.
  • 5 hours of playtime (if you don't fall too hard for optimization loops)
  • 36 components to assemble
  • Unrestricted sandbox

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The plan is to increase the price of the game with the content, mostly tied to chapters. Early supporters in development will get the game at a reduced price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Mainly Hard Chip Discord server. We have channels for showcasing players' solutions and others for suggestions, feedback, and bug reports.

Of course, we are open to using other places like Reddit or Steam forums. Even if we'll focus on one place, we'll switch wherever players prefer to go.”

EARLY ACCESS

Good people at Valve once said players should buy into an early access for what it is now and not for what it could be. We agree! Make sure you read the Early Access Game section above.

Hard Chip is in its active development phase. While the core player experience is in place, the content is subject to change. You may encounter areas where fine-tuning is ongoing, and some features may evolve as we continue to improve the game. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us shape the final product, and we appreciate your understanding and support during this exciting phase of development!

About This Game

Step into the shoes of 'new_user', an engineer tasked with the monumental challenge of repairing machines to escape from an unknown location. Your tool? The fundamental building blocks of digital logic: complementary transistors.

BUILD YOUR OWN PARTS

Begin with the basics of electronic components, creating gates out of complementary transistors. Learn the art of electronic design as you progress from simple NAND and NOR gates to complex circuits capable of performing intricate tasks.

ASSEMBLE THEM

Combine your gates into larger, more sophisticated parts. Each assembly is a puzzle, demanding not just intelligence but creativity, planning, and foresight.

OPTIMIZE

Optimize your designs for efficiency and space, pushing the limits of your engineering prowess.

TERMINALS

All electronics seem non-functional, and they are your only way forward.

FIND YOUR WAY OUT

Advance into a strange world.
