Varför Early Access?

“This is my first public release of a video game, and to say its rough around the edges is probably an understatement. I also realize I've made something that is probably more esoteric than it needed to be, so I'm looking forward to any feedback from potential enthusiasts as to how to improve things.

I see Early Access as the next hard milestone for me after the demo release, before finally setting my 1.0 launch date.”

“A few months at most, I'd really like to put a 1.0 stamp on this before the end of 2024.”

“In general, the core experience and gameplay loops are ready to go, so I won't be straying too far from how it plays now.

I have a list of features that are in progress, things like a complete list of Steam Achievements, controller rumble, screen effects, and it almost goes without saying improved polish and presentation in general.

I have an even longer list of bigger items I'd like to include over the course of a short Early Access. I can't promise anything exactly, but some of these items are including but not limited to:

• A single city Endless Mode
  
• A UI pass (specifically regarding the Codex, but others as well)
  
• Simple story beats on completion of a campaign
  
• New generator types
  
• New enemy variations

I expect the community will also have some great gameplay suggestions that I would consider to include on the short road to a full release.”

“The Early Access version basically a unlocked version of what's available in the demo. The tutorial is complete, all 4 Heirs are functional, all 4 Call Ins and Weapons are available, Gambits can be unlocked and kept, and a campaign run can be played to completion.

There's nothing really missing from the core experience or otherwise blocked off in Early Access.”

Kommer spelet att prissättas annorlunda under och efter Early Access?

“No plans to change the price after Early Access, since I'm developing this as a part time hobby, I don't plan to go aggressively into sales schemes.

I also don't plan to do any DLC or otherwise paid content, anything extra I build for the game will be included as standard updates.”

Hur planerar ni att involvera gemenskapen i er utvecklingsprocess?

“I am of course open to discussion on the game and its possible directions anywhere that the the community feels it wants to post. Steam discussions, Discord, and direct email (found in the game) are all good options.”
