This demo contains 15 puzzles, and will take at least:

  • 30+ minutes to reach the end screen
  • 60+ minutes to complete all puzzles
  • 150+ minutes to obsessively perfect literally everything (don't do this)

The demo crams as much as possible into a small number of puzzles, so the on-boarding is rushed. Things will ramp up a lot more nicely in the full game, and in a future "next-fest" demo that will become available early 2025.

Get penguins home safely in Gentoo Rescue! Penguins must coordinate with walruses, who want to escape into the water. Items let you break the rules of the game and the metagame. Discover their uses, limitations, and interactions. Will you choose the right tool for the job?

Featuring

  • Penguins, walruses, and fish! They offer opposing win conditions and turn every mechanic into a double-edged sword.
  • An interconnected network of puzzles with secrets and item-based progression.
  • Hundreds of diverse, hand-crafted levels that are small and simple, but difficult.
  • An exponentially growing space of interactions between items, teleporters, and more.
  • A journal for tracking discovered interactions, which also marks entries required for the current puzzle.
  • A tiered hint system for when the journal isn't enough. These emphasize a deduction-based approach.
  • A post-game competitive "challenge mode" containing over a million puzzles.
  • Original music.

  • No time-sensitive inputs.
  • Colorblind friendly with customizable colors.
  • Use controller, keyboard, or mouse with customizable keybinds. (Exception: Puzzle editor requires mouse.)
  • Option to skip puzzles or reveal secrets.
  • Many other QoL features and options.
