About This Game

Alchemy of the Earth is a solo-developed open-world dreamscape where herbalism and alchemy are your lifelines. Gather rare ingredients, brew potions and poultices, and scavenge for loot to survive the undead remains of the island's original inhabitants, the Varharti.

Who were the Varharti? The Alchemist will tell you, if you will listen. Fabian will ramble on and on to you for hours as you explore the expanses of his Isle. About his wife, and the tragedy of her death. About his mysterious childhood, and the drowning of his mother in an icy lake. And also he will whisper of the troubling times he faced during the Revolts of Cairo in 1798. He will muse over his discovery of the Moly tea, a potent drug capable of creating continuity in one's dreams, enough continuity even, to bring the dead ghosts of Egypt back to life from the mud. Alchemy of the Earth contains a fully narrated novella length story, written meticulously to fit with the game's island map, which features over 50 distinct locations and 6 unique biomes.

Explore a large hand-crafted world with distinct environments and sweeping vistas.

From open meadows to wind-shaped highlands, each biome is carefully built by hand to provide variety, clarity, and a sense of place, with an unprecedented amount of foliage density.

Alchemy of the Earth contains over 200 million interactable plants, in order to push the Unreal Engine 5 foliage system to the absolute brink of collapse. Foliage density settings are available in the options menu if needed. Use these ingredients in a crafting system which is designed to run on its own you explore, helping you build your self-sustaining alchemy engine.

Find your way through the Veil:

Venture through abandoned settlements, crumbling structures, and overgrown wilderness. Along the way, you’ll uncover scattered traces of the island’s past—small details and forgotten places that piece together its history, and all the terrible things that the skeletons did to the Varharti.

Leave No Stone Unturned:

Alchemy of the Earth is not just the ultimate flower picking simulator. It is also a game full of hundreds upon hundreds of secret items, spells, enemies, locations, easter eggs, and strange occurrences.

Grind ingredients, brew potions, distill magic:

Magic is real, and the power of the elements are in your hands. Use your knowledge of aspects and essences to craft dozens of unique potions and spells to survive the creator’s failed experiments.
