What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We really want to work with the community to make this the most fun we possibly can.
A big part of our model here is to take direct player feedback into consideration as we work towards the 1.0 Release.

We have our own roadmap, which we'll make public but we want to know what people like, dislike, and want more of.
The only way we're going to do that is to have everyone involved from the earliest possible point. There's always a risk with early access, but we think we've got something fun here and really need your help to make it a game that we truly believe it can be.

In that spirit, we hope that you'll engage with us through the forums and discord to point out issues and make suggestions, we read ALL feedback.

But make no mistake, this game is in true Early Access. This isn't a sneaky way to release the game.

You will find bugs, you will find crashes, and you will lose progress, but you will also be helping us to deliver an incredible game that's only going to get better as we work through early access.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Our goal is to have a stable 1.0 release within a year of early access. Obviously locking down a solid time is a tough prospect, as unseen pitfalls are all too common in game development.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We have a lot of plans already, uncluding:

*A macro progression system where each player can progress outside of individual games
improving their abilities with the various tools and devices in the game.

*Endgame content: We really want to expand the world and bring in fresh new activities beyond the basic game loop. This will include new types of events instead of just the dungeons that you find now.

*New and varied enemies: We are looking to have plenty of threats all over the world to test your skills and make every adventure a thrilling challenge each time you do a run.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is currently in it's foundational stage.

Features:

Online - CoOp
A very basic procedurally generated navigational map with randomized locations to explore
6 unique and dangerous enemies inside the ancient ruins.
3 Backslot items that can change the way you play and approach each situation.
over 20 Items to find and sell
The foundation of the player progression system with several perks to unlock and equip.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, our current price is set low enough to encourage more people to join us on this journey as we fully develop this into an adventure that we'll want to play for a long time. As the game progresses closer to the official release, the price will rise to reflect.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“This is the big one.
We want to create a community to help us bring the game to life. We'll be active in our discord, forums, and social media. We'll be listening to all feedback, good or bad, to try and deliver the game you all want to play.

We can't wait to hear your ideas and feedback, and are excited to let you into the world of Relencost.

We'll See you Beyond the Stormwall.”

About This Game

Relencost is a world ravaged by ancient conflict. The surface has been rendered unlivable by a permanent chaotic magical storm.
The survivors in this post apocalyptic world have ascended above the cloud layer, finding safety upon the tallest mountain peaks and the floating islands scattered around the world.

One place remains treacherous above all others: The Stormwall.

A place so dangerous that it's shifting depths are rarely explored and only the bravest or most greedy dare to travel.

Each day, a new safe passage will shift into being, opening or closing the path to different locations.

You and your colleagues will delve into the depths of The Stormwall, locating and retrieving lost treasures from Pre-War Relencost while completing contracts from the Ranadeen Empire.
You'll use numerous tools and gadgets to increase your odds of survival, and more importantly: Loot. You will use your hard earned wealth to upgrade your ship allowing you to move deeper into the storm for greater rewards and precious Skystones.

*Sail over chasms with the Glider

*Reach untold heights with the Grapple pack

*Use your hard earned gold to purchase new and more powerful tools in the supply outpost.

*Unlock permanent character upgrades with Skystones given as rewards for completing the Ranadeen salvage contracts.

Gather your fellow Stormtreaders and work together to survive The Stormwall.
Ancient locations are filled with terrible enemies intent on making each trip your last.
Keep your eyes peeled and your wits sharp to get your loot back to the ship.

Move quickly as activity inside of the storm wall attracts the unwanted attention of Mighty Goliath's called Stormbeasts.
Few things can survive a direct conflict with a stormbeast, so make sure that you, your ship, and your goods have left before they show up.
