“Around 1 year, maybe less, maybe more.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of Star Birds will include much more content, more buildings, more asteroids and THINGS on them, more Star Systems and Game Modes, as well as more polish and QoL features. The full release will also add more cutscenes and will continue the story campaign.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current Early Access version is already a very stable and smoothly playable experience.

Content-wise, the Early Access version goes far beyond what the demo offered and significantly steps up the complexity. You can already play through three full star systems with many levels each, as well as experience the first part of the story campaign.
Currently you're already able to build many different buildings and production networks of varying complexity, set up energy networks with different sources, and explore many more asteroids, now with ice caps and plateaus.

Recent updates
December 18th, 2025:
Currently, the first big content update is in beta, free for all owners of the game to try before the official update launch in January.

This new update adds a new star system, new levels and story missions, more buildings, plants, and aliens, as well as a first iteration of a free mode / level generator.

We’ve invested a lot of time in polishing, but of course there are always a few bugs to be found - definitely let us know if you find any 🙂”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“During the Early Access phase, Star Birds will be offered at a reduced price. This allows us to give back to the community for supporting us early on.

With the release of the full version (1.0), the game’s price may be raised slightly, as the game will offer a more polished and complete experience with much more content.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We’re looking forward to our community playing the game and giving us feedback here in the community hub or on our social channels. Additionally, we’ve added an in-game bug reporting tool that players can use to easily inform our team about hiccups or technical issues.

About This Game

Star Birds is a relaxing asteroid base-building and resource management game where you help your population of spacefaring birds prosper and thrive. No matter if you're a genre veteran or want to get a foot into an oftentimes overwhelming space: the Star Birds will be happy to have you by their side. And not just because chaos would ensue very quickly without you.

Scan and claim nearby asteroids to mine resources ranging from ice and metals to rather obscure things. Build production facilities and automate the manufacturing of increasingly advanced goods. Deliver products to your space station to fulfill quests that satisfy the needs of your birds, however odd these might be. Establish transportation routes to create a bustling cosmic production network, advance your technology and ultimately take off to foreign star systems to pursue the mysteries of your galaxy!

360° Base Building
Place buildings on procedurally generated asteroids and build your own little worlds floating in space. Use each asteroid's unique shape and available surface to create the perfect production network. Take the role of a cosmic pioneer and strategically place and connect production facilities with hand-drawn-pipes to optimize your resource flow.

Explore and Experiment
Gather resources and explore different ways to transform and combine them into a variety of goods you're going to need for your mission. Investigate the asteroid's surface, overcome unforeseen obstacles and excavate mysterious artifacts.
