About This Game

The working class RPG.

In this RPG you can only pick one class, the working class. Play as Paintricia, she used to paint art, then she painted walls, now she's stuck with no cash for the bus ride home. Wandering the giant liminal space that is "The City" things start to get weird.
Explore every alley, play cards with rats, and, for the first time, connect with the people around you.
But do make sure you're well-equipped and supplied or you won't get far.

(Was that too vague? Just so ya know, it's an open-world RPG with some approachable silly resource management and an enjoyable card-based take on battles.
Though, it's more about trying to find happiness in our nonsensical society. It's not about elves, dwarves, or psychic kids, it's about the adventure that is being an adult under capitalism.)

You play as Paintricia, she used to paint art, now she paints walls

"I sometimes feel like a little pill bug, scuttling along the pavement.
Observing, trying to not get squashed.
Don't think I'm talking down on myself, pill bugs are adorable.
And what's wrong with going unnoticed? Life's a lot easier that way."

Meet Jo, the dangerously caffeinated Net-Cafe owner

"So, I kinda sorta opened a bunch of cafes at once.
Due to staff shortages, I'm manning each one.
I'm kinda stretched thin if you couldn't tell.
Anyway, my struggle is actually quite convenient for you.
Please use the break rooms at any location!"

Explore the expansive open-world that is The City

The City is full of convenience stores, net cafes, and people in need, whatever you'd find downtown. You're free to go anywhere, as long as you're prepared for what you'll find. Being one giant liminal space, things tend to get distorted in strange ways. There's something mystical seeping through the cracks in the pavement. Something that's always been there for those willing to stop and look.

Dive into the first-person dungeons!

(A city has dungeons? Yeah! Of course!) They are found everywhere. The guts of a mall, the basement of a school, the printing room of a library. (Ever come across a door, not sure where it leads?) But wait! Before you head in, it's best to stock up on supplies. Mapping out a dungeon, and placing ladders will help you when you return.

(Don't think that dungeons are scary places! You might meet some kind people and find some neat trinkets.)

Encounter all sorts of enemies

Master the art of battling through the use of skills, charms, and of course, cards! Each attack you do you get to change a card in your hand. Different hands provide things like health recovery, stat boosts, and even some massively powerful attacks. (So satisfying)

(Though, feel free to just pick the middle card every turn, you'll be fine.)

(In conclusion, is this game for you? That would depend on who YOU are. If you are on the fence feel free to join our discord and chat with us, the devs!)
