Autocrats is a first person government simulation game.

After wars, epidemics, and famines, Humanity united under the World Republic. The World Republic began to heal Humanity's wounds and promote development. Humanity continued to advance and set its sights beyond the Earth. The idea arose that Humanity's ultimate salvation and Truth lay beyond the stars. The World Republic began to establish colonies on planets. MORA was one of these planets, and new colonies were started on MORA.

Meanwhile, things were not going well in the World Republic. The necessity of the World Republic was being questioned. Some opinions argued that the former states and limited authority international unions were functioning well enough and did not want a monopolistic authority like the World Republic. In response to these problems, the World Republic implemented a policy of distributing separatists to extraterrestrial colonies.
