What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“While we feel the game has a strong core, with well defined systems, and a fun gameplay loop, it lacks on some key areas like content, depth, and polish, which are things that takes time and a lot user feedback to really build upon. By making the game available as early access, we wish to get the game in our player's hands as soon as possible, and let the player's feedback help guide us in developing the game in what we believe it can be.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We don't expect our early access phase to last longer than 1 year. But things might change as we further develop the game and our ideas get implemented into the game.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“While the core gameplay loop is expected to remain the same, the game is planned to have a lot more content in the form of new Abilities, Orbs, Perks, Maps, Enemies, Bosses, Buildings, and some new systems integrated into the core gameplay loop, as we find it suitable and our time and budget allows us to further develop the game.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The core aspects of our gameplay loop are fully developed and working.

There are currently 3 different combat maps, with 4 different difficulties that the player can progress through, with the difficulty increasing the enemies health and damage, while also increasing the variety of enemies the player will encounter and an infinite scaling system the player can unlock upon finishing the highest difficulty, that allows the player to further increase the difficulty of the game.

There are also over 15 different Abilities, over 15 different Orbs that can be equipped onto abilties to modify their attributes or add new mechanics to the ability, and over 15 different Perks that are gained during combat, that allows even further customization.

Lastly the player has access to their Hideout which allows them to customize their base by creating buildings with different uses, and acting as a central hub where the player return to after doing a combat map.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We may increase the price once the game is fully released if we feel there was enough content added during the early access period to warrant a price increase.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We'll be in direct touch with our community through our Discord server which will be mantained and moderated by the development team, and the feedback received will be taken in consideration through all of the development process, we'll also pay close attention to our Steam discussions and reviews.”

About This Game

There's a time to think and there's a time to act, and with Test Lab Inc. you'll have to do both, tinker with your Abilities, swapping your equipped Orbs , and select your desired pool of Perks, then set out on your Expedition and see how well you fare against the endless waves of robots that are trying to destroy you.

Abilities

There are over 20 different abilities for you to choose from, equip any combination of 6 abilities (Even 6 of the same if you so desire!), and try to find the combination that better matches your playstyle!

Orbs

The main way to change up your abilities, orbs will affect the Ability it is equipped to. With over 25 different orbs available in the game and 6 slots to equip them on each of your abilities, there are loads of combinations for you to try out and find the one that fits.

Perks

Perks is our way of having something new and exciting every Expedition, with over 30 different perks available on the game, you'll have to select at least 10 of them to be available to show up during your Expedition, and while some are a simple Damage boost, you'll have others that make enemies explode on death, gain movement speed when you dash or even prevent you from dying!

Expeditions

You're all set up now and ready to kick some robot ass, check out your Atlas and choose an expedition, go through the portal and you'll find yourself in a closed off map and the enemies will waste no time rouding you up and beating you down, the only question now is, are you locked in here with them or are they locked in with you?

Build your base

After coming back from your expedition, you're going to have plenty of resources laying around, use those to create new buildings and expand your base, increasing your power even more!
