Demo Available

The demo is out! Featuring three playable missions that give you a taste of what Star Shogun has to offer:

  • The Bubble is a tutorial mission. Your new employer wants you in top shape.

  • Zavian Moon focuses on building and exploring.

  • Orabian Planetary Ring, Part 2. Crab Fight! Take advantage of base logistics to keep your force in the fight.

About This Game

As the newest hire of the rapacious Komodo Corp. you'll be deployed to planets, moons, and orbital installations throughout the Kohanga Cluster: an open star cluster colonized by humans centuries ago.

You'll need to establish your base, manage resources, and keep an eye on aggressive locals and competing corporate interests, and by keep an eye we mean deploy an army of mechs and crush your enemies under your iron boot.

Star Shogun is at its core a first person base building game. You deploy, and use, buildings to manage your economy and grow your city. You must also defend your base. To that end you can choose from a host of vehicles but you must also build the necessary logistics to support your defense.

The game is single player with a campaign that sees you embark on a series of missions. Each mission repeats the basic base building / logistics mechanic but takes place on a unique map with its own resources, enemies, objectives, and terrain. Gameplay can range anywhere from idle city builder to high octane mech fighting simulation.

Strategy & Combat

Although you can automate your units and issue them basic orders it's much more fun to jump into a mech yourself. Vehicle fighting means managing your power, armor, and ammunition. Retreat back to base to replace armor panels, repair your vehicle, reload ammo, and even customize your loadout. Provided you have the right infrastructure in place.

Construction & Economy Management

Early game base deployment options provide the logistics you need to establish a foothold: power, equipment, and additional manpower.

Mid-game constructions not only scale your base into a proper colony but allow you to provide the deeper logistical support necessary to field a force of mechs and fliers.

Late game megaprojects, from glittering outposts in the heavens to arcologies that will mark the ground for millenia to come, are testaments to your power and ambition.

Komodo Corp. will give you a start. After that it's up to you. Will you rise to be the next Star Shogun?

About The Developer

Star Shogun is my solo dev project that I've been working on pretty much since UE5 came out a couple of years back. The game is very much a work in progress, with improvements and additions almost every day. Please drop me a line if you'd like to give feedback or get involved.

What's next?

My goal is to release an early access version by the end of 2024 with a half dozen or so campaign missions and additional buildings, vehicles, weapons, and game mechanics.

Current Development Update:

Big picture as far as base building goes Tier2 is getting towards complete. The demo does not allow you to build the Daimyo Residence - Tier3 construction hub. If you could go there though you'd find a half dozen tier 3 construction options moving towards completion.

As far as mechs we've got two more ready to go: the Panther and the Victor. There is also a Tier1 unit: the MOBE Suit (CUBE deployable, same class as the Crab Tank) which will have some logistics/base management functionality that is lacking at the moment.

Weapon wise I'm expanding on the artillery class. Infantry has the 40mm Grenade Launcher but there are no larger equivalents for mechs. Prepare to get your lob on.
