Reviews

“Mirrors of Epiphany isn’t a game that’s going to wow you. It’s not trying to. But for what it is, a compact, calming puzzle experience, it does a commendable job. It’s approachable, rewarding in small bursts, and gently encourages you to think a little more critically without ever raising your blood pressure.”
LadiesGamers

“All in all, Mirrors of Epiphany is a well-executed little puzzle game that does what it needs to do in a solid way, without any extra frills. (Translated from Norwegian)”

About This Game

Mirrors of Epiphany is a puzzle game where you guide light beams to their designated goals by placing mirrors on a board.

Core gameplay

Light sources and detectors (paired up by colours) are placed around an empty board. The challenge is to place mirrors in positions and orientations so that each source and detector pair is connected.

No portals!

Portals are very cool! Who wouldn't like to have one in their living room, or maybe in the garden? And for sure, portals have been used in many fascinating and clever ways in a lot of puzzle games. But they don't have to be a part of "every" puzzle game. Sometimes less is more, so Mirrors of Epiphany contains exactly zero portals. In fact it doesn't contain colour splitters, blockers or any other peculiar stuff either. There's just mirrors; two-sided mirrors behaving perfectly normal, redirecting light beams as in well-known, classic physics. But beware; you cannot always place the mirrors exactly as you would like to...

Rich in content

There are 100 unique puzzles, ranging from the simplest possible to larger boards with multiple pairs of light sources and detectors.

Choose your own challenge level

Most puzzles have a lot of workable solutions, but each puzzle has only one optimal solution (i.e. using as few mirrors as possible). Explore and play around to find solutions that just get the job done, or satisfy your puzzle solving instincts by reaching for perfection.

Unlimited number of moves

You can place mirrors, change their orientations, and remove them again as many times as you like. The number of moves are not counted. The only scoring measure is the number of mirrors placed on the board when all pairs of light sources and detectors are connected.

Extensive progress saving

The automatic progress saving keeps track of all mirrors placed on every visited puzzle board. That means you can leave a clever and promising solution halfway, and then come back to finish it later. Or if you return to a previously solved puzzle, the mirror setup you used is still there waiting for you, to be optimized or admired.

Relaxing

There are no time limits. You can enjoy solving all the puzzles at your own pace.
