Why Early Access?

“I Want To Go Home is being developed and tested by one person, this is also my first time creating a multiplayer game and my first game on Steam so I will be taking all the feedback from the early access period and implementing it into this game and any other project I release in the future.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The original planned timeframe for early access was 1-3 months but the game is now planned to enter its fully released state during Spring of 2025. The extended time in early access has allowed me to find and fix many more bugs and glitches in addition to allowing me to make changes and additions to gameplay. I want the game to be as polished as it can be.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“In the 1.0 release I plan to have 4 of the 8 planned levels, 4 of the 8 planned ghosts, and 5 of the 9 planned playable characters. I also plan to build upon the horror and narrative elements within each level. I plan to also tweak the gameplay features, multiplayer elements and any other aspects of the game that may need more work, also fixing bugs and glitches.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The gameplay features that are planned for the game are already in the game (please refer to the 'About This Game' section) but I plan to refine and tweak them based on player feedback. Multiplayer is in the game but there are possibly still bugs and glitches that need to be fixed. There are currently 3 maps, 4 ghosts, and 3 playable characters. The game's more narrative elements are not yet added but I plan to once the early access period starts.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will not change during the early access period, everything added to the game during this time will be free updates. Also there will be no paid post-launch content, everything added post-launch will be free. So the current price will not increase no matter what.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I will be looking for feedback wherever I can find it, be that steam reviews and community pages, YouTube comments, tweets or in any other ways. I love interacting with the people that engage with the things that I make so I will make sure to get a lot of different perspectives on the game.”

About This Game

Plot Synopsis

After being asked to stay late to close up the restaurant for the night, the employees of the "Masked Munchies" restaurant chain find themselves in a dire situation as they have to survive being attacked by paranormal beings. Uncover more about each entity and the reason why you are being attacked by these ghosts as you try to escape this waking nightmare. You do not have to deal with it alone as you can team up with at least 3 other employees in hopes that you can find safety in numbers.

Gameplay

Grab cleaning items and clean up messes to earn money that you can use at different soda machines that give you passive and active abilities to help you survive. When you complete a level, the remaining money will be added to your player total and you can use that to purchase characters. Choose which level and difficulty you wish to play on and survive the attacks of the ghosts.

Characters

Unlock more characters to choose from and play as them in levels. More characters will be added for free following the game’s release.

Co-op

The game can be played with 1-4 players. You will work together to clean up the restaurant and survive.

The Ghosts

As you clean the restaurant, you will encounter paranormal beings that will get increasingly aggressive as time goes on. You will have to think on your feet and be cautious if you want to make it out alive.
