Note: This game is a PC (Steam) port of “Alternate Tales of Ryukyu: Bonds of the Red Sakura Trees,” originally released for smartphones in September 2015.Character voices are not included in this version.

Story

Long ago, in the southern kingdom of Ryukyu,

there once was a monstrous creature that threatened to destroy the land, spreading fear across the nation.

A hero sealed the creature’s body and soul into two orbs and hid them where no one could find them.

Now, over 400 years later, peace reigns… but the seal is about to be broken.

Characters

Momochiyo Urasoe

Son of the Prime Minister of Shurijo Castle, of royal blood.

Cheerful and outgoing, he’s a natural leader who tends to overstep in caring for others but is loved by everyone. A passionate, people-loving personality.

Shukei Yamazaki

A doctor-in-training unmatched in archery.

Kind and calm, but in critical situations he can be ruthless. Assists his father, a personal physician, while pursuing medical knowledge with a sharp memory and wide expertise.

Masakusu Aniya

A wayward apprentice of the Omoro chanting profession.

Dislikes half-heartedness, but strong-willed, and responsible despite his youth. Appears cold and condescending but struggles to express feelings, often speaking sharply out of clumsiness.

Shunkai

A survivor of the Wokou pirates.

Quick-thinking, adaptable, calm, and sharp, yet he freely throws himself into interesting events. Respected by his crew.

Kenryo

A diligent Ryukyu dancer.

Sensitive to others’ emotions, easily hurt, and prone to avoid conflict when pushed too far. Despite internal struggles, he takes pride in his dance and works diligently.

Matsuro

Ruka’s attendant.

Raised like a sibling, serious and dependable, acting as her guardian. Feels a strong duty to protect Ruka, sometimes becoming emotionally defensive toward suspicious individuals.

Ruka Yoshimi (name changeable)

Born to a father from Yamato and a mother from Ryukyu.

The only human capable of touching and purifying shards of “Ryu.” After foreseeing Ryukyu’s destruction and discovering her own mysterious power, she sets out to save her late mother’s homeland, the Ryukyu Kingdom.
