What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Since Num-Sama utilizes the Numpad as its main control mechanic in an innovative way, as a solo dev, I will draw heavily from the community's feedback to improve and balance the game during its Early Access phase.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“While my goal is to release the full version of the game as soon as possible, the timeline is due for change based on the amount of feedback I'll receive from the community. My estimation is that it will take at least a year.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version release is planned to have additional weapons to fight with or against, new types of enemies, unique bosses and many more levels structured to become a fully fledged story line that ties in with the unique lore that is currently in progress. I plan to introduce these additions gradually during Early Access, alongside the general improvements and balance/bug fixes, as well as new features that may arise from community discussions.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“In its current state, Num-sama features a training section that introduces the player to the combat system, two seamslessly connected levels with a unique boss battle and many enemies. All combat that take place utilizes my novel Numpad mechanic.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Price of Num-Sama will increase gradually as it gets closer to its full release state. The initial price will serve as a token of my gratitude to the community and their valuable support.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I will be closely monitoring Steam discussion pages and third party sites for posts, suggestions and ideas. Since the development of Num-sama will be dependent on community feedback, correspondence with the players will be one of my priorities.”

About This Game

Num-Sama is a fast-paced action game that takes place in feudal Japan. As a lone samurai, you take on your foes in third-person melee combat. Num-Sama features a novel approach to combat interactions, in which your blade is manipulated not through mouse movements or clicks, but by your Numpad keystrokes.
Master your Blade
Perfect your sword skills and become one with your weapon. Translate your keystrokes to slashes and thrusts with the power of your Numpad. No need for a mouse.

Defend your Dojo
Only you can save your dojo. Find and protect your peers from the raiders of the enemy clan. Deflect incoming attacks from all sides or guide clashed blades to overpower your enemy. The key is to observe your opponent’s attack angles and respond with the right combination in time.

Survive the Raid
Your meditation was interrupted by an intruder. No one heard them coming. Fight your way out of a dawn raid, where ninjas patiently wait around every corner. Be on your toes as you clear your dojo, room by room. They can come from every direction.

Key Features
• Two levels, full of enemies to fight and defeat using different attack combinations.
• Enemies that engage suddenly and without hesitation, sometimes multiple enemies at once!
• A unique boss that forces you to rethink your strategy and adapt to new challenges.
• Quick time events that lead to you overpowering your enemies into submission and ends in rare finishers.
• Your Numpad keystrokes determine the path of your blade and the direction of your attacks, letting you become one with your weapon in a new and exciting way.
