“the goal is to exit early access 1 year from the November launch and have the game go "gold" entering maintenance mode. the game will launch with a complete version of chess and a basic campaign”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“the full version would be feature complete based on community engagement and feature request. Fully supporting the standard chess format, with an auto battler campaign, piece and board editor planned out which will enable alternative game modes like checkers and rule variants.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“it is a complete version of chess with incrementally improved gameplay and quality of life features, auto-battling/campaign mode and editor features are still a work in progress with an emphasis on a powerful list of options to provide a unique chess experience to popular online 2D versions.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“the price will start out lower on early access release with one planned price jump during early access and then releasing at full price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“monthly update post, players can give feedback each time and/or make feature request. also having the community to assist in building multiplayer out would be a really valuable resource. It is a feature that I feel would take the title to the next level but is difficult to launch with as a solo dev, so it sits on the chopping block. remote play is sufficiently supported, but coop/versus playtesting will still be helpful”
