What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We decided to take Unguided to the next step, and it involves its being played heavily by the community. It will help us define what works best and emphasize it, build a community, and deliver a solid product that will be enjoyed and loved.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We're aiming to deliver v1.0 in a 18-month window after launch”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Here's what things look like now, compared to v1.0 in %:

Combat and core systems - 60/100
Meta systems - 20/100
Content - 20/100
Narrative - 20/100

Unguided was initially designed as a 2-player co-op with a twist, and with enough resources, this feature can be shifted from v1.5+ to v1.0”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Playable demo with core combat and gameplay loop, 2 playable dungeons with a bossfight at the end of each”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to gradually raise the price as we ship new content and features”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We welcome everyone to our Discord to chat with us, share your experience and opinions on the game, and have the latest plans and updates from the team”

About This Game

Playtest is live, join and <RUN>!

Unguided is a roguelite slasher with stamina-based combat drawing inspiration from Tron and 1980s sci-fi artwork and music. The game puts you in control of an inmate in a digital prison with only one way out - get to the remote server of the abandoned human cloning laboratory, upload yourself back into the blank body, and get revenge on the ones who framed you.

  • Master fast-paced, challenging combat that requires precise timing and stamina management. Slash, shoot, and dodge your way through the PIT prison for a chance to live again.

  • Combine attack and defence routines and execute cross-weapon combos to get the most out of your 1N-M8 stack

  • Forge your personal codebase bit by bit, upgrade your 1N-M8 stack, and unlock permanent upgrades to change the way you fight and reach new areas of the PIT

  • Get to the end of the ever-changing system, filled with humanity's most dangerous and twisted minds. Befriend the worst of them. Use raw Source Code to recover your memories or help other inmates rewrite theirs.

"Welcome to the PIT, the most humane prison in the history of mankind. It's a one-way ticket designed with a simple goal in mind - keep the moralists at bay. You see, in 2037, we're executing criminals by the thousands, and apparently, that had upset a religion or two. But what if we could still permanently remove these elements from society, but you know... with all the "thou shalt not kill" part still intact? Enter the Personality Improvement Technology, once a long-buried human mind digitalization program, and a savior to society nowadays. Problem solved - the "immortal" part gets sent to the PIT, and the body gets the good 'ol "...have mercy on your soul" treatment." - from the book "How it's done: Albert Kramer's story"

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

Players control an inmate, trying to escape a digital prison. From an isometric perspective, players explore environments based on other inmates' minds. Players engage in melee-style combat against digitalized humans and abstract, primitive-shaped sentinels of the system. Players use digital routines depicted as weapons (swords, spears, revolvers) to kill enemies. Enemies emit pieces of code when injured/killed, with no depiction of realistic blood.

System Requirements

    Minimum:
    • OS: Windows 10
    • Processor: i5-7500
    • Memory: 8 GB RAM
    • Graphics: GTX 1060
    • DirectX: Version 11
    • Storage: 500 MB available space
