Why Early Access?

“The Adventures of Liam is planned to be in Early Access for the foreseeable future. To put it short; this game was far too ambitious. While I'm working on upcoming levels and features, I wanted to get the game out so that I can get feedback while I work on the bigger upcoming features.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I expect The Adventures of Liam to be in Early Access until around early 2028, most likely; as I can focus my time towards some of the game's bigger plans.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I'm planning on consistently updating this game with new content over the next couple of years. From small updates with individual levels and bug fixes, to huge content updates with big new gameplay features. For example, I'd love to include a local co-op / PVP mode at some point in the (fairly distant) future.

I'm also hard at work on a costume system, allowing for Liam to have many different looks! I'm not 100% sure yet whether these will be customizable or just preset cosmetic changes; but I plan to regularly introduce more cosmetics into the game too.

By the end of development, my big plan for The Adventures of Liam is for the game to feature a full story mode. I already have the story mostly planned out, with breadcrumbs already placed throughout the current game and it's marketing. My goal for the story mode is to have a new gimmick for each level, getting more outlandish as the game goes on. Some levels featured in the "Free Play" mode will be present with small changes, along with many new ones!”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Currently, The Adventures of Liam is in it's alpha phase. I'm still experimenting with different level designs, themes and features, regularly adding new levels and gimmicks as time goes on.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The Adventures of Liam is a free-to-play game. I currently have no plans to change the price after early access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“A large reason why I am choosing Early Access is to allow players to provide their feedback and ideas. Do you like one part of the game but despise another? Tell me! There's a feedback form link included on the game's title screen which only takes a couple of minutes to fill in.”
