Why Early Access?

“Slime Alchemist is the product of a one-person development team designed to appeal to players looking for a fresh spin on the roguelike deckbuilder formula. The core gameplay and mechanics are in place and I'm looking for community feedback on directions for expansion, content that players would be interested in, and information on the current difficulty/balance of the game. The community's involvement will help guide me in polishing and refining the game.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The scope and ambition of further additions will depend on the reception and interest of the steam community, but my preliminary target is a full release in one year.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

Things I'd like to add:

• More variety of overworld pickups, including alternative crafts for enemy essences (duplicating, randomizing, multiple card crafts, etc).
  
• An expanded tutorial to make the game more approachable.
  
• Additional card effects such as traps and terrain modifiers.
  
• Additional world biomes and multiple possible battle maps for existing biomes.
  
• A true final boss to put the most powerful slimes to the test.
  
• Online scoring, leaderboards, and daily runs.
  
• Unlockables and progression.
  
• And of course, more enemies/cards!

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game currently has 5 biomes to explore, 110+ cards to craft, 30+ enemies to fight, 4 bosses to overcome, 6+ difficulties to climb, and 30+ items to acquire.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I plan to gradually increase the price as I add new features and content to the game.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I'd like to incorporate community concepts for enemy designs, mechanics, cards, balance, and everything else! I believe that roguelike lives and dies on the amount and quality of content available, so I'm hoping to gather as much feedback as possible! There's an in-game feedback form for exactly that.”
