What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Apart from getting to market sooner and having that resource of players giving feedback, I want people to be able to enjoy the development process along with me and see the game grow and evolve, and be able to influence its course.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Three months to a year.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Over times I want to add more vehicles and weapons for the player, more dreadnought features and types. I'm focusing on gameplay not story, but I do want to add more of a campaign mode that gives out bits of lore.

This is what you might call "hand-crafted code": custom engine, little use of third-party libraries or assets. There's quite a lot of room for optimization and engine-level feature additions, so those should also be ongoing during the Early Access period.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“A playable and fun, but very minimalistic and raw version of the intended experience. Graphics are basic and sound's pretty rough, but you do get to smash up a fully-destructable giant enemy ship... if you're up to the challenge.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Price is intended to go up 50-100% from the initial Early Access price. I want to keep it a low-priced game, but also give Early Access players a bit of a deal.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Definitely hoping for lots of feedback and wish lists on the Steam discussion forums to help make Dreadnoughts the best it can be. I'll try and keep bugs to a minimum, but please tell me about any you notice!”

About This Game

Dreadnoughts of Caelus is a first-person 3D action flight sim.

Far from Earth, a city floats in the bottomless blue-green mists of the ice giant Caelus, its inhabitants lost in dreams. A dreadnought is coming for them, an immense ship dwarfing your jet fighters. Can you stop it in time, or will you just chip off some of its resources to strengthen your defense of another city?

Featuring fully destructible dreadnoughts with multiple systems to target, to weaken its defenses, slow it down, degrade its capabilities, liberate its resources, and eventually send it plunging into the depths of Caelus.
