What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The game is in constant development, so it will receive changes and improvements in future updates. Early Access will allow you to enjoy the game at an early stage by seeing its changes and contributing ideas and feedback.
Help us build Path of Ascension! We want to offer players the possibility to see how the game evolves and improve it with your help!

We are currently in early access. The game may contain errors, be incomplete, and/or contain content that may be modified in future game updates. Stay up to date with news and updates.

The game being in early access, you agree and understand that we will do our best to provide the best user experience available.

At the moment you can find:

- 20 Floors in the Battle Tower.
- At least 3 different characters available to choose from in combat.
- Direct contact with the main mechanics of the game.
- Among other things.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Approximately how long is this game going to be in early access?

We don't have an exact date, but the game will be in this state until we release the final version (release) 1.0.0 sometime in 2024. In the meantime you can enjoy the game in its "early acess" development stages with alphas and betas .

We count on you to help us create a fun and innovative game!”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Our intention is for the final version (v1.0.0) to be up to date with the most recent Early Access version so far. When the game grows enough from version 0.9 to v1.0 it will become a "final release" including improvements, bug fixes, and new content in general. Stay up to date with news by following our Steam page!

We plan to have the following content for the full version of the game:

- 50 floors of the Battle Tower (30 for Alpha versions of the game and 40 for Betas)

- Over 20 playable characters (8 for Alphas and 15 for Betas)

- More than 5 Character Skins for each of the characters (Unlockable through the game and some by additional DLC's)

- At least 30 different achievements for the game!

- Increased Character Customization with new features! (At the moment we are working to bring the base systems and then improve and refine everything over time)

- English language. In the early stages of the game, Early Access will be translated into Spanish. English will be added in a future game update.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Early Access - Alpha Stage (v0.1-v0.4)

Currently you can:

- Reach 20 Floors in the Battle Tower.
- At least 3 different characters available to choose from in combat.
- Direct contact with the main mechanics of the game.
- Among other things.

In the next updates we will increase this content intensively.

Stay tuned for game updates on our Steam page!”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We do not intend to change the price after the game is finally released. Take advantage of Steam offers and discounts to purchase the game at a better price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We love hearing people's opinions! That's why we invite you to join our Unite Players community and our social networks to give us your comments! (Only Available on Spanish)

Your comments will help us to bring you a better experience and fix those things that we have not been able to detect.”

About This Game

Introducing Path of Ascension. The latest game from Undermax Games.

Combining elements of classic RPG's with some Rouguelike content and the freedom to choose your own path, we have developed this simple but innovative project.

In Path of Ascension ("POA" from now on) you will be responsible for your progress, as we have removed randomization from almost every aspect of the game. We don't like the idea that sometimes you win or lose by "pure luck". We believe that this is unfair, that is why in this game you will make the decision of what you want to do with your character.

Do you want to give yourself more vitality points at the cost of having less energy? Or maybe you think you need more skills and not so many items? Is this a good time to heal up or can you survive one more round?

Here you decide what to do with your character. Find the right balance to reach the end of the battle tower, and challenge your friends to try to beat it before you do.

We want to focus on bringing an experience that has not been presented in other games.

In most role-playing games, there is always the "luck" factor that randomizes things, and although there are many games where you can distribute the character's stats, in none of them should you be analyzing whether you really want to raise a stat, or learn a skill, or buy an item among other things to progress in the game. The experience is usually quite simple.

You will have to pay attention to the battles that are coming and create a strategy that will help you to overcome the challenges. It's not just about reaching the top floor, it's a competition to see who found the fastest and most efficient way to overcome the challenges that come your way.

In Path of Ascension you must overcome the 50 floors of the Battle Tower. Fighting every 5 floors against a floor boss, and rescue different characters that you can use throughout the adventure.

In this game you will not have partners, you will fight individually with the character you have chosen.

Each character has its own unique mechanics and different abilities. So don't hesitate to try them all!

All characters will have the same chance of being victorious in the game. There will be no characters more powerful than others. Everyone will have some advantage and some disadvantage, it's up to you to choose which one you think best suits the situation.

As we already said we have implemented some things from Roguelike games, and one of them is the possibility of having different seeds for the game.

In this game, the seeds will define exactly how the fights will be from floors 1 to 50. That means, there will be variations between these floors. It may be that in one game you have to fight a Goblin with the Fire element, but in another that Goblin is of the Water element.

What defines the difficulty of the enemies will be the floor you are on, the rest of the factors will depend on the seed used. As you progress in the battle tower, the fights will become more difficult.

If you want to repeat the same seed because you liked it or it was easy for you, you can do it simply by typing the number of the seed to be used in the game. You can also compete against other players using that same seed and see who got further and faster with the same enemies.
