Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Aexia is targeted to be officially launched in June 2024. We are currently in open Beta.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We have a roadmap planned to add the following features. Those will be prioritized based on user feedback:

- Support for multiple GMs: 2 or more GMs can be active during a live game.
- Random number generator: to determine the outcomes of actions taken by players.
- Interactable Props: for puzzle-solving and escape rooms.
- Character customization (Through a Ready Player Me integration): For players to customize their characters according to their needs
- User-Generated Content: Upload your own 3D objects (through Sketch Fab integration)”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Currently, we are in open beta. We feel that our foundation is in place as a role-playing platform: Aexia is able to facilitate creating and playing a role-play session from start to finish. Here are some of the features available in Early Access:

- Broad Support for VR headsets: In line with our mission to increase the popularity of VR RP, we are engineering Aexia to be compatible with a wide array of VR headsets, including standalone devices like the Quest II, as well as PC VR systems.

- GM's God View: An omniscient view empowers the GM to keep track of everything going on in their game, even when players are split up. Full oversight enhances the GM’s ability to guide the narrative effectively. GMs can seamlessly navigate the entire map as a God seeing through walls and ceilings.

- Real-Time World Creation without Programming Experience: Many of us just want to create and play. We don't want to learn how to code or use Unity. This feature provides the flexibility to improvise role-playing sets on the spot. GMs can use the world editor to create stages ahead of time, pick from prebuilt role-playing sets, and even create and edit stages on the fly mid-session.

- Game Deck: Written content for a role-playing session: Character cards, Encounter cards, Story cards

- User Generated Content: Image upload for Walls and as a tile/decal, 3D objects (through Sketch Fab integration)

- NPC Flexibility. Create and manage a story with multiple NPCs without the need for additional actors. Game masters can seamlessly embody any non-player character (NPC) in their games. NPCs can be placed throughout the role-playing set ahead of time or added by the GM in response to twists in the story.

- Streamlined Session Prep: Aexia enables a fluid start to the VR RP adventure allowing us to step into our roles by streamlining wait times or complex procedures during the session preparation and character selection process. GMs have the power to transition players from a prep room to the role-playing set. Players can interact with other players and GM, discuss games and choices and then select a character to play.

- Voice Channels: GMs can guide individual players or groups through specific plotlines, clues, or character development without impacting the experiences of others through private communication.

You are likely to encounter bugs in Aexia or to find that features don't work as expected. The open beta is our time to stamp out bugs, collect feedback, and use that feedback to iterate on existing features. Meanwhile, we'll be using feedback to inform development decisions and prioritization for the additional features on our roadmap.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Aexia will be free to play during and after Early Access. Pricing expectations on planned subscriptions for creators and paid asset packs may be subject to change.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Aexia's development process is high-touch with the community, which is growing daily on Discord. We are directly engaging with developers playing alongside community members and actively conversing with beta testers.
