About This Game

GAMEPLAY

• You play as a little bio-robot scout, exploring mysterious and hostile planets, with 8-directional movement and a very basic control scheme.

• Follow your intuition and observations to choose your path.

• Collect scraps and minerals (from mining) - every 5 scraps grants 1 upgrade from the tech tree. Try out different builds and adapt while you play!

• Speaking of adapting: you gain unique abilities from extracted samples, which can help to progress.

• The plant-like organisms can always be extracted, yet the creature-like organisms need to be stunned before extraction is possible.

• Regularly return to base to recharge your energy!

• Find lost and broken STEEBs from previous expeditions, which are extra lives in the case STEEB breaks, or to swap with at the Spaceship.

• Once your STEEB has collected all samples from the planet, it can return to the Spaceship and leave the planet to travel to the next one. The aim for the final game is to have (at least) 3 unique planets, with unique environments and organisms, to overcome and complete.

CONTEXT / LORE

• STEEB stands for Star-Travelling Explore 'n Evolve Bot. Humanity has developed STEEBs to sent out as probes to distant galaxies, in search of habitable planets. However, these planets may be harsh and hostile environments.

• The unique quality of STEEBs is their ability to use alien DNA-like samples. Once a sample is extracted from an alien plant-like or creature-like organism, the STEEB gains an ability. This ability is a tool that STEEBs can use to survive and adapt to the hostile planets.
