NOTE: This is a very early playable prototype of Machines of Madness. This version presents the main features and mechanics of the game, but the final product may differ from it significantly.

Machines of Madness is a pixel top-down shooter in which you find yourself in an extremely dangerous cyberworld swarming with deadly combat bots. Your task is to find a way home out of this perilous dimension. The good thing is, you won’t be alone: fight combats together with Phantoms, anthropomorphic programs with various abilities.


You play as a talented coder hooked on experimenting with cyberspace, so much so that he accidentally teleported to the world of soulless machines whose only purpose is to destroy everything in their way. That makes it a bit more difficult for you to come back home: after all, you are now the number one target for thousands of bloodthirsty bots.


Enter the Phantoms. In this world, the combat software you developed is here to protect you in the shapes of powerful creatures, each with a unique ability. A Phantom’s main feature is that when destroyed, it doesn’t disappear completely but leaves a recording in the combat field that repeats all of its actions and helps new Phantoms fight.


You set out to explore an enormous high-tech labyrinth of numerous rooms, each with hordes of enemy bots and tricky traps. If you want to get out alive, you’ll have to master operating the Phantoms. Use their incredible skills to engage in intensive shootouts, solve puzzles and finally find a way out of this nightmarish robotic world!
