About This Game

From the creator of the hardest kaizo mod in the world, Inpulse is a spiritual successor to modern kaizo.

Built by ESport Veterans:

Designed with love by one of the original kaizo modders from the early 2000s. Playtested by a roster of world-record holders and esport veterans.

Octave System:

Collect seven different notes and play them to move through the air. Each note corresponds to a different movement mechanic, and these mechanics interact with the environment in ways that stack. The order in which you collect the notes will determine how you move, allowing for complex routing through levels and deep combos using very few inputs: move and shoot.

Color-Coded Mechanics:

Inpulse is built with learnability in mind, so that the skill ceiling is limited by the speed of your thoughts and not the speed of your fingers. every mechanic is color coded, allowing for faster readability.

Music-Driven Design:

Experience a single evolving piece of music as the level progresses with our prog-opera inspired soundtrack. Watch movement combos play out as literal melodies which dynamically harmonize to the music in-game. This means you can remember successful inputs as audio cues and write them down in music notation

Quicksaves and Quickloads:

Never get stuck in a level. Inpulse comes with emulator-style savestates which load instantaneously. Saves are mapped your controller by default and increment automatically so that you never have to worry about overwriting past progress.

Adjustable Retry Speeds:

Set the pace of gameplay to your liking. Reload the level instantly to stay in the zone or pause a moment to analyze what you did.

Input Playback:

Analyze input playback on a DDR-style input screen.

Level Preview:

Preview the level with a tutorial character or race against it for speed. Record your own demos and send them to your fiends or challenge our builtin speed-run files from top kaizo players.

Builtin TAS Support:

Save and load while recording to create a perfect run, and watch it at arbitrary playback speeds.

Builtin Twitch Chat:

One monitor? No problem! Fullscreen the game and read your twitch chat directly on the HUD.
