Why Early Access?

“Building a great game is already challenging, and doing so without feedback is nearly impossible. Early Access will allow me to provide access to the game to players early, while continuing to add features, content and polish based on feedback.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Estimating is notoriously difficult. I already have a lot of ideas for the game, but want to ensure I have time to incorporate user feedback as well. I expect the game to be in Early Access for at least 6mo to 1 year.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Content: The game right now can teach basic introductory programming, problem solving, and some data structures. I have some ideas on how to teach more advanced concepts through this style as well.

Graphics: In many places the artwork is still rather rough. Most of the artwork has been drawn by myself. Based on the response to early access, I will either look into hiring an art team or spend more time on the artwork myself.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Curriculum: The game covers basic programming ideas (conditions, variables, functions), as well as some trickier puzzles based on recursion and data structures. 25 Levels, including a sandbox.

Gameplay: Currently there are 25 levels, including a sandbox mode that provides everything needed to create your own spells/programs.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I want the game to remain a great value throughout development. Early Access will start at a lower price based on the initial content and polish, and will gradually increase as development proceeds.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I have a Discord server to communicate with players, and I plan to provide regular updates via Steam as well. In-game, there is also an option to provide feedback on the game so far.
