Varför Early Access?

“Tactical Assault VR is my love letter to the old-school tactical shooters that I grew up on in the late 1990s. Bringing many aspects of those games into virtual reality takes an immense amount of design, coding, time, and effort.

When I started this project in January 2022, my original intention was to simply get my feet wet in VR development. I knew I wanted to make a VR shooter that slowed itself down and made every corner and every angle a death trap. The idea for multiplayer floated around but that was a hopeful dream at the time. My early tests came out horrible. Like, pretty bad.

As months went by and each iteration was played, the game improved and expanded and expanded. Thanks to the valuable feedback provided by the Discord community, single-player missions were added, more weapons were thrown in, and the addition of multiplayer coop became a reality.

The game currently sits at around 60-70% complete and my goals are simple. Complete the final mission planned and continue the amount of progress we've already seen over the past 2 years.

As a solo developer, I simply need time. Time to work on the game, time to debug, time to research, time to be involved in the community, and time to be a human being. Having the game publicly available as an Early Access release allows me to focus more of that time on Tactical Assault VR's development.”

Ungefär hur länge kommer det här spelet att vara i Early Access?

“The game is expected to be in Early Access until all 6 single-player and multiplayer maps are completed, the game is content-rich and PvP is more refined.”

Hur är det tänkt att den fullständiga versionen ska skilja sig från versionen i Early Access?

“I am aiming to have a total of 6 missions that are both Singleplayer and Multiplayer Coop with day and night variations of each map.

I'm also pushing to include PvP with mission-based objectives.

PCVR will give the opportunity for the project to grow exponentially with the hopes that community mod support can keep the game alive for years to come.”

“The current state of the game is about 60%-70% complete with 5 missions currently available, a Sandbox Mode, a Room Randomizer map, a few mini-games and an Alpha PvP Deathmatch mode. There's also a wide variety of weapons, attachments, PCVR-only 8-player coop and 6-player crossplay coop with Quest 2/3/Pro players.”

Kommer spelet att prissättas annorlunda under och efter Early Access?

“Pricing will increase as the size of the game and its features increase.”

“The TAVR Discord community has been extremely helpful in providing feedback for the game. The community is free to pitch suggestions and ideas and also get involved in Alpha and Beta testing for new and experimental features.
